Maybe compound words since it means something while not being as simple as regular English and being more poetic. Latin is cool but somehow latin is strange for Cybertronian yet English is strange as well but we can assume that it is also Cybertronian so then why not assume for the latin as well but it would take away the exotic note... (unless it is some Cybertronian ancien language) Slightly modified or alien is depending of the name. In fact it is all depending of the name.
those cheesy Japanese names that sometimes doesn't make any sense in the vein of Super Ginrai & God Bomber (which sounded like he was a weapon designed to kill a god, fittingly enough Ginrai's arch nemesis is named Overlord)
I tend to enjoy singular word-inspired names. I'm okay with any type of naming method really, but the simplicity of Drift, Rook, Arcee & others like them are just more endearing to me.
Latin/Greek inspired. Except when it's forced apon an already existing name. *cough* Megatronus *cough*
