im not dumb enough to mispell seeker. there was a thread like this with the same title as this one that was a long story someone wrote bashing on tfw. it lasted 10 min. i made this seeing if it would fool anyone. and to see ppl's favorite seEker molds. and it worked once. i got brricy
I dig the Armada Seeker design. I'm not saying the mold is the best, but the design is just pure win. Very sleek and heroic design. I hope they use the character in Universe with a new mold.
I'm very partial to the current voyager ROTF Starscream mold. It's a work of ingenuity and creativity rarely seen in mainline transformers. Of course I've never liked the actual movie Starscream design, so I would never claim it the definitive seeker mold. Like the majority , I'd have to go with Classics.
I think it would have been nice if they could have put in another hing like the G1 seekers so the wings could be turned back out of the way, but stull, I have all 3 classics and the henkei of the other 3, awsome bots. ohw, the mP seekers are the bomb, can't beleive more haven't said it yet.
ROTF Ransack....What? Ok seriously, I'll have to go with Animated. I just love all the personality that toy has.
Personally, I'm rather fond of the Cybertron Thundercracker mold. Sleek jet mode with very little robo-junk, good posability on the robot mode, and a BFG for a left hand. I know a lot of folks in the fandom don't like this mold, but I find it to be the most fun to fiddle with, as far as seekers go.
MP is hands down one of the best seeker molds. Then it would be the classic one but there is just one problem with the classic, the size. If the classics would be a bigger size like lets say a voyager then it would be way cooler.
Masterpiece, without a doubt. Why? 1. They capture the G1 Seeker character extremely well. As figures, they have a surprisingly well-thought out set of joints and swivels (They make the shoulder-mounted guns WORK without any cheating), the BEST hands of any Masterpiece figure, and just look imposing and badass. The hip kibble limiting leg pose-ability is a bit disappointing, and kitbashers have shown it could have been much better dealt with, but every figure has a flaw. 2. They look INCREDIBLE in alt mode. They look like model F-15's, even in their G1 color schemes. The panel lines are all hidden and naturally blended into the alt mode so perfectly they completely vanish, and only by looking at the underside do you see any incongruity. Even then, you don't see anything that even remotely suggests 'Robot'. Skywarp and Thundercracker are especially striking with their glossy, vibrant black and blue, respectively. Even Starscream (The white one) uses black wash and detailing to bring out the details that would otherwise vanish in a mostly off-white mold. 3. We get all three. This has been my BIGGEST frustration with seekers ever since Armada... we get Starscream... we get Thundercracker or Skywarp... then the third is either massively short-packed and impossible to find, or an exclusive that runs something like 5 times the normal price, or a completely different size class that doesn't go with the other two. Classics was the biggest heartbreak in this regard. There are downsides to these molds... price and fragility being the biggest two. But I still love them to pieces.
Without a doubt, my favorite is the Universe/Classics Starscream mold, with the Armada Skywarp coming in a close second.
(Forgive the Off Topic talk...) If I wasn't already planning on getting the MP Seekers for myself you'd have me sold on them. Really, you just inadvertantly answered some of the questions I had about this particular Seeker mold and provided some awesome pictures as well. (How did you manage that vehicular in-flight scene anyway?)
Yes, with the downside that they have a tendency to wage genocidal war on your other non-Masterpiece toys. But only if you get the ultra-rare MP Megatron with the working Fusion cannon to spur them on.
