Doesn't surprise me that eyesore of Energon Prime hasn't got off the starting blocks yet.

 

And neither is RID2001. That is one of my favorite designs of the poll choices, but it's not Optimus Prime.

My choices of characters that actually are meant to be Optimus Prime would be PMOP and Fall of Cybertron.

Runners up would be G1 and Animated, with honorable mentions to Cybertron, Armada, Alternity, WFC, and Laser Optimus Prime. I've also grown to like the Bay movie designs and Alternators Optimus Prime.

If I was going to pick any of the post-Marvel comics designs, I liked the Dreamwave War Within design, and what Livio did in Autocracy. I'm not wild about the rest of the IDW or DW looks for Optimus.

 

G1, Animated and especially FoC.

My favorite is Don's ongoing Earth-mode version (pre Dark Cybertron).

 

Dude, that is none of the choices you listed. That's FoC, not WFC.

FOC is one of my choices, because like you say, he's beefy. Prior to Titans Return, that design was the closest we got to a PMOP in appearance in a very long time.

 

The G1 design is classic, but as with most character designs, my favorite is Transformers: Prime's. The best elements of the G1 and Movie designs all rolled into one, with elements from the Animated and Cybertron designs mixed in with the Beast Hunters upgrade. It looks real, but it doesn't have the jagged faces that aren't to everyone's liking.

G1 is the classic look. He's kinda like superman and by that I mean they keep changing him and different artists draw him differently but we always come back to that classic almost timeless look.

PowerMaster Prime is 2nd for me. He's just a very nice design and reeks of power

Cybertron is my 3rd it's just a great design hint hint 3rd parties

Powermaster - more powerful looking than the Diaclone design, and then you add the trailer ... And the toy is far sturdier.

RiD 2001/Fire Convoy - novel supermode design, solid basic robot.

Cybertron - kind of a "best of" figure, combining elements from every Prime before him.
