Despite what your favorite system is now-a-days, most of us grew up with the big, bad, NES. It was a time when games were hard as heck and gameplay truly ruled over graphics. So with the new Nintendo system being released soon, I ask: What was your favorite games from the NES period. Mine would be: Final Fantasy: Classic, and although you had to grind for leveling, it was still fun. Half the enjoyment came out of figuring out what kind of party to make. Warrior, Black Belt, R.Mage, W.Mage is still my favorite. Super Mario 1-3: All of them classics and each different (yeah, Super Mario 2 wasn't orginally a Mario game but who cares!). 'nough said. Crystalis: Not as popular as many of the others I'm mentioning, it was very fun, and was one of the first to combine RPG and actions elements. The year is 1997... Megaman 2 and 3: To be honest, I didn't care much for MM1 due to Gutsman's stage (stupid switches! ) and after 3 it seemed like the whole point was to make each game less original and more difficult. Still, these two were awesome. Especially 3 when you discover who Protoman was. Sure, it's cliche now (and even then) but who thought about a robot having a "brother" (again, he had a sister but she wasn't really ever seen in the early ones). So what about your all-time favorites?
