What was your favorite movie of the year? My personal favorite movie of the year is Fast Five because it had some of the best action sequences I had ever seen and good, strong characters. It was the most fun I have had watching a movie in years. In second place, it's a tie between Transformers DOTM and Harry Potter 8. In third place is Captain America.

It's a tough choice, but I gotta go with Rise of the Apes.

    movies i saw in theaters this year;

    thor
    x-men first class
    green lantern
    transformers 3
    captain america
    cowboys and aliens
rise of the planet of the apes
    conan the barbarian
    the three musketeers.

    and i'd rank them this;

    cowboys and aliens
    conan the barbarian
    captain america
    transformers 3
    thor
    three musketeers
rise of the planet of the apes
    x-men first class
    green lantern.

x-men and green lantern get the bottom, not because they are bad movies, but just because they were the least memorable.

i really forgot i saw them, until now. :lol  green lantern left no impact on me, and x-men had no real characters i liked in it. it wasn't really x-men anyways, it was more of magneto, renamed. i do admit though, Magneto, was pretty cool. and they did leave him as the most likable character too. even if he becomes a villain. and he was very sympathetic too. but other then magneto, and wolverine's tiny cameo. i forgot what else happened in the movie.

and green lantern. idk. Hal is just boring to me :lol

Looking at all your lists makes me want to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes even more. I think I'm getting it for Christmas, but I'm not sure. I still love the original Planet of the Apes film from 1968 and it holds up well today. If I see it and like it enough, I might add it into my list.

The only two movies to come out this year that I've actually seen are DotM and Green Lantern, and GL wasn't very good, so DotM wins by default. I might get around to watching Harry Potter 7.2 by the end of the year, though, so maybe that one will beat out DotM, if it turns out to be good.

Though not set in stone, off the top of my head, the list would be:

    5. Warrior
    4. Captain America: The First Avenger
    3. Drive
    2. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon
    1. The Adventures Of Tintin

2 and 1 are currently battling it out for the top spot. :)

Either X-Men First Class or Hugo.

Haven't seen all the films of the year, i want to see either the Muppets, Tintin or the new Mission Impossible.

I also saw and liked Thor, Captain America, Horrible Bosses and to some extent Green Lantern, DOTM was okay i guess not great but far from worse.

Real Steel. Not necessairly the best, but its the one I enjoyed most.

You see, with DOTM, there were months of preparation, I analyzed every angle of it and how things would happen, of course I was thrown away by Sentinel's betrayal, but still, I was analyzing every moment of the movie.

With Real Steel, I hadn't prepared myself for anything, I just went there and saw a great movie, simply watching it instead of analyzing, it felt like the old days before I knew internet, and that old joy of actually CHEERING for the lead characters on the theather made Real Steel my favorite movie of the year.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, no contest. Though I also enjoyed Green Lantern, Sherlock Holmes 2, Captain America, and Thor, but none of them could compare to the last Harry Potter movie :D

On the other end of the spectrum, Dark of the Moon was the absolute worst movie this year, and is already on my top five list of worst movies ever made, ever.

I think Rise of the Planet of the Apes might've been my favorite. That was amazing.

Honorable mentions to X-Men: First Class, Thor, and DOTM.

That said, I still want to see Tintin, Hugo, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Mission Impossible...
