Whats the best idw series and why?
I'm gonna say Revolution, but really I mean Revolutionaries. That series has been more entertaining to me than the whole of MTMTE and RID combined.
Yeah, the eight issues of Revolutionaries are probably my favourite-ever Transformers comic run now. MTMTE #12-16 is probably up there too for me, but Revolutionaries is just incredibly delightful.
MTMTE 4 life. Especially Shadowplay and Elegant Chaos.
MTMTE for me. It was everything I never knew I wanted in a Transformers series and made me realise that these dumb space robots can be more than just dumb space robots.
Revolutionaries is definitely up there as well, a surprisingly great series that I really wish wasn't ending.
Also, Till All Are One.
I guess I’ll be the oddball and say RiD, I liked the Decepticon uprisings, it showed that Cybertron was never truly at peace
Till all are one, Shining Armor, Optimus Prime and Rid (2012).
Revolutionaries are ending?
Yep, issue #8 is the last one. It was always meant as the bridge between Revolution and the set up for First Strike.
I can only vote for one
MTMTE because of the use of characters that never get any exploration otherwise.
Because of the wonderfull worldbuilding.
Because of Shockwave, Overlord, The DJD, Deathsaurus and Nickle, Remain in light, Shadowplay, Skids, Ultra Magnus, Rodimus, Red Alert, Pipes, Drift and Ratchet, Krok, Spinister, Misfire and friends etc...
All Hail Megatron for the most realistic account of a Decepticon invasion of earth yet. For making me give a damn about the relationship between Megatron and Starscream for the duration of the series. For the comedy. For the pacing of the revelation how fucked the Autobots exactly are. For the relationship between Bumblebee and Wheeljack. The relatiinship between Ironhide, Mirage, Prowl and Jazz. Between Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. For the relationship between Thundercracker and Skywarp and the conflict between the Decepticon "elite" and the Insecticons. For the way it depicted Kup. For not depicting Kup as a cardboard jive talking old croon. For basically making the 84 cast not as ass-boring as they usually are and doing it in a story that for once SHOWS rather than tells us that the Decepticons are fucked up evil bastards. And for that fucked up scene of Soundwave and Frenzy versus the US Army.
Maximum Dinobots for making the usual story of humans trying to fuck with Cybertronian biotech and burning their hands look good.
For the conflict between Shockwave and Grimlock. For the relationship between the Dinobots. For introducing the fucking Monsterbots even if it is for a handfull of panels.
For how the deal between Shockwave and Soundwave was depicted and framed.
For the glorious battlescenes. For Scorponok.
For Hot Rod. For being Furman at his best.
MTMTE, Maximum Dinobots, AHM, and the Wreckers duology.
Ya i would have put the wreckers and the others series in there but i ran out of room
Yes i wanted to make this difficult.
Voted for the "-ation" series, but almost went with RID.
This is too difficult - i like them all for different reasons.
Except for combiner wars.
revolutionaries was great? my store doesn't even order tf titles due to all the marvel crap and d.c.'s continuous revamps (though, i still list jack kirby's fourth world/new gods/mister miracle/etc. my favorite continuity). any revolutionaries spoilers? i feel this is how the hasbro universe should have been done and how they're somewhat preparing to do: instead of so many different titles, put them in team-up titles... mask/g.i. joe, rom/visionaries, etc. but still part of the crown jewel of hasbro's universe, idw's transformers mythology.
MtMtE, but LSotW as a very, very close second.
Tom Scioli <3
MTMTE probably has the most good in it, but outside of miniseries like LSOTW, Till All Are One is probably the most consistently fantastic (despite only being 12 issues).
