Though more folks had access to the cartoon, I always preferred the Mighty Marble's version.

Any fan owes it to themselves to pick up at least the first eight issues of the run.

War for Cybertron. That's what it was intended as when they made it.

Marvel for me - we never had the cartoon beyond Season 1 in the UK (and even then, VERY sporadically) so it was the fiction I had the most exposure to.

    Cartoon.

But I did love what Dreamwave did with it years later.

Right now it's the IDW run of the comics. I'm going to assume it'll change because I'm reading the Marvel US and UK run of comics.

I always preferred an amalgam of the marvel run and the cartoon. Omega is a guardian bot from cybertron, and the dinobots fought shockwave in the area that still had dinosaurs on the planet 4 million years ago.

I also loved the marvel version of shockwave, but always thought the cartoon version of megatron was superior. IDW is really doing things "right" now that I'm thinking about it.

Marvel in its uk run and the G1 cartoon are both pretty strong for me, but I am pretty fond of the IDW run overall as a 'universe' so that may win. It kinda picks from the best of previous iterations of G1...

    Unless...

does Animated count? Its as G1 as the IDW stuff is really... in fact its just one big love letter to the TF of my childhood.
