Which TF series had your favorite design asthetic?
Not to be a geewunner but the G1 style has looked to be the best for me, but it seems TFP's style is close to beating G1's.

War for Cybertron. I'm such a whore for that game.

Honorable mentions to G1, Beast Wars (not Machines), and Prime.

Gotta go with G1, but when I say G1, I really mean the Diaclone, etc. based TFs.

Something about the movie and season 3 stuff just didn't look as good to me.

Honorable mention goes to TF: Prime for doing a kickass job of combining G1, Bay movie, and Animated designs. I really, really like the TF: Prime designs. :)

    G1.

Also, i personally propagated the use of 'aesthetic' (with an e mind you) on this board as lexicon/everyday vernacular, waaaay back in mid 00s when alt/bt was out, true story.

Im also the guy who inverted the curvature of pringles chips so itd be easier for you to pick one out from the tube, honest injun.

Um, aesthetics is a word used to describe how something looks visually. It's been around for centuries.

    Movies listed twice?

I picked movie, but really it's an equal tie between movie and Animated. Both so expressive, unique and fantastic. Runner up is BW with it's more abstract facial designs (such as Cheetor who has layers of geometric shapes making up his face structure, or the insectoid designs of Waspinator and Inferno) and rounder, humanoid proportions.

    G1 closely followed by Animated.

G2 shouldn't have it's own category since its aesthetic was exactly like G1 in terms of robot design style - it just had shitty neon colored toys is all.

I like the Movieverse look best. I like my alien bots weird and monstrous, and my alt modes realistic.
Beast Wars is a close second.

Incidentally, BW is the closest thing to a "childhood TF line" and Movieverse is what got me into the hobby. Nostalgic bias? Oh yessssss.

Animated. That said, if we could get something in between Animated and G1 with a touch of Gurren Lagann, I'd be overjoyed.

Mine is the Prime asthetic!:D  It combined what I liked about the Movie and Animated asthetics and made them into something VERY great and unique to me!:)  The Movie and Animated asthetics follow second and third!

I'd say G1, but as someone else mentioned above, I really mean "Diaclone", more than the actual cartooning style used on the original series. The best examples of Japanese box art really defined my preferred Transformers style.

I know it's unpopular because people didn't like those series very much, but I'll say Unicron Trilogy, because if you just look at the actual aesthetic, it's pretty much traditional G1 styling, with a bit more anime flair and a greater level of technical detailing. If you're only assessing the art-style, I'd say it's a winner.

Never mind the fact that there is some notable stylistic variation between Armada, Energon and Cybertron, so they shouldn't all be lumped together either.

I also really enjoyed what was done with War for Cybertron, though I did find that the lack of Earth modes did get a bit tiresome for me. I'll also give props to Prime because it did a really interesting job in reconciling the Animated aesthetic and Bayformers... 2 things that one would think would be impossible to merge. However, overall it's still not my favourite style.

It's a tough call because for individual characters it ends up being different series.

But to pick just one I'll go with Transformers Prime because it kind of feels like they are pulling elements from different series to get the look of the characters.
