Hey guys, I'm trying to balance my bots/cons, and need some opinions on the figs that are still available in stores. I'm thinking of getting maybe skullgrin or thunderwing, but I haven't heard enough to really sway me for or against these guys. I usially gor for the characters/modes I like, but with so few cons out these days its kinda hard. I already have scourge, and I dont want TC. So tell me what you think of TW and AG, and your personal faves.
    Thanks!

I recommend Generations Thunderwing and Skullgrin if you're looking to fill out your Decepticons. Also, Darkmount/Straxus if you haven't already picked him up. He's distinct enough from Skullgrin because of the head.

Outside of Generations, HFTD Terradive and Hailstorm are also pretty nice.

I have both Skullgrin and Thunderwing. They're great figures and I unhesitatingly recommend them.

skullgrin is ok. He's got a nice colour scheme and a distinctive, if rather small head. Where he loses points for me is that his transformation isn't the most intuitive, and I find him rather difficult to pose in robot mode. If you're concerned about scale, he's also kinda small for a tank.

Can't say anything bout TW since I don't have him.

A definite vote for Skullgrin. As to Thunderwing, I'm much more a fan of Terradive, for recent 'con deluxe jets. Thunderwing's transformation and underside (in alt mode) are off-putting.

I'd rank them in this order:

    Space Case
    Skullgrin
    Thunderwing

I haven't seen HFTD Decepticons around here in a couple of months, but if you do, Terradive, Axor and Hailstorm are all really cool. I don't have any deluxe DOTM toys, so can't help there.

Since terradive is hard to come by I might check out space case. When I first saw pics of crank case I thought he would be a good choice, but I have a problem with an suv being smaller thanany of my deluxe sport cars. Is his bot mode as dinky?

There are still a few Dirges hanging around if you're into seekers.

If you don't have a Soundwave yet, I would definitely consider WFC Soundwave - I have him and I really like him! His vehicle mode is weird, but his robot mode fits in pretty well with the "classics" aesthetic. He even has his battery weapons! Both of them can be plugged into his shoulder.

Skullgrin is so-so. He isn't extremely detailed and he has some rather irritating backpack kibble. On the plus side, his clip weapons are really nice and can be used with other figures that have clip points.

I don't have Thunderwing, so I can't really comment on him. Sadly, that's about all the Generations that are still on shelves right now, besides Thundercracker.

If you don't have Thunderwing, get him. DOTM screamer is good too.

This, and then we can't forget about Generations Thrust. Not sure if you'll still be able to find him in stores, but he's easily my favorite seeker, and the fact that one or two of them are still floating around my city makes em fair game for this thread.

He's not aerialbot bad, but both of his arms do just sit there under the wings, in alt mode. Basically, the whole jet top just stays on his back. His legs extend down and his head gets revealed.

    A very unexciting transformation.

I have all the Generations Decepticon Deluxes. I regret nothing! Only one I can see turning down is Skullgrin, he only had a big part in one (very memorable) comics issue and he looks a lot like Straxus/Darkmount, who you should really be picking up.

WFC Megatron is solid if you don't already own that. As is Soundwave.
