I wouldn't pick Optimus or Ironhide deaths in the films, because I liked them.

Skids and Mudlfap on the other hand, I would have punched the air in victory......
wait I did that when one of them went flying into Devastator's mouth...but Because Michael Bay liked them they survived....  

 

No worries... They were vaporized by Sentinel Prime in earlier drafts of DOTM.

 

Hmmm. . . . Ironhide. His death was the only one I felt anything for.

 

And yet in the movie itseasily forgotten so easily and it appears like no one gave a crap.

 

Except for BB who at least attempted to avenge Ironhide's death.

 

The movie may have ignored his death, but it shocked me. Never saw it coming, and he was one of my favorite guys. Everyone else was pretty much canon fodder.

Yeah, I hate things that are never in the movie too.

Other than the various, minute dings and scratches that are almost always present on the robots*, we've never seen a full-on damaged character (Optimus after the forest battle, Bumblebee with no legs, etc.) attempt to transform into vehicle mode as you describe.

I love every time Optimus brutally murders someone because it's absolutely hilarious to imagine his thought process, like how he thinks to kill someone by ripping their eye out of their throat.

Oh, I love Movie Prime.

 

Demolishor, I like when prime finish with his opponent like that. I like when he kills sentinel too

 

The novel features a brief thought process as Optimus attcked Shockwave:

Quote: "His eye offended me, so I plucked it out and crushed it upon the ground."

 

Oh man, I need to read that novel again. That's one of the few novelizations that is actually better than the movie it's based on. That and the Revenge of the Sith novel, anyway.

 

i kno this is corny but the death of cybertron really did it for me. loved the epic swirling vortex effect!
as for bots, i think megatron's beheading was epic and ceremonious. i was satisfied with it, just wish that there was an actual fight before his death

Oh, I remember that. I also love it when Shockwave yells "OUTRAGE!" when shooting Prime out of the sky.

 

The novel has many awesome moments.

Case in point, with Ironhide: "Too slow to change their course, the Decepticons ending up plowing straight into him, exploding into a million pieces. The massive Autobot rocked back on his heels slightly, but was barely affected by the multiple impacts.

Ratchet and the Twins watched from NEST's entrances as Ironhide idly brushed pieces of Decepticon off him and mused: "They don't make them like they used to.""

 

Mexican Standoff's better though.

Doesn't senselessly overpower Ironhide or bring five new Dreads out of nowhere. Plus it's just cooler.

BACK ON TOPIC. I'm surprised more people haven't picked crankcase. Dude got hit in the face with his buddy's spear, tossed onto a car, and kicked into an auto part shop where he exploded.

That was really awesome. I wonder why Crankcase exploded, though? Was the auto-shop full of grenades? XD
