When I was just a kiddo, my family always listened to "John Denver and the Muppets Christmas Carols" record. Yes, a record! Anyways, all great songs on there, and I have since bought the CD and listen to it now. Be careful though, there were 13 tracks on the record, and when it was originally released on CD, they left 3 tracks out for some odd reason. So, if for some reason your curious to hear the songs, make sure you find something with all 13 tracks.
Carol of The Bells O' Holy Night Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree--Brenda Lee God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman/We Three Kings--Barenaked Ladies with Sarah McLachlan We Three Kings Bob Rivers Christmas A Holly Jolly Christmas--Burl Ives Christmas Pipes--Celtic Woman
Mine are all the classics(White Christmas, Holy/Silent Night etc), then there's the funny one's like Christmas at Ground Zero(NOT about 9/11) by Weird Al, also his "The Night Santa Went Crazy" was great too
I probably like Christmas music too much- I think I have about 30 CDs worth. That being said, some faves include... Any Christmas song sung by Elvis. "Oh Holy Night," particularly as performed by Rebecca St. James. Hangnail's amped up "Do You Hear What I Hear?" The Beach Boys, "Little St. Nick." "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." "Ding! Fries Are Done." The above-mentioned 'Weird Al' stuff. "Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel." "Little Drummer Boy," especially as performed by Bob Seger or Jars of Clay. "Santa Claus is Thumbin' to Town" by Reliant K. and lots more.
Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Mad Russian Christmas" The whole classical Nutcracker Suite Carol of the Bells -- Mannheimer Steamroller's version is just AWESOME!!! Hallejulah from the Messiah -- Mannheimer Steamroller's version The Christmas Song Snoopy's Christmas -- on cassette... I need to find a way to get it burned on CD Here Comes Santa Claus -- Elvis Presley And Christmas albums from Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Oak Ridge Boys, and The A-Strings. I grew up listening to them, so... Plus, I really like Celtic Christmas songs... all instrumental versions.
Oh, yes... how can I forget the Christmas music from Charlie Brown... and Weird Al's "Christmas at Ground Zero"?
