With the attack from the Vok last season, and Primal destroyed, and the planet saved, Predacon and Maximal can breathe freely with the Vok having passed, regardless of loss. But out of nowhere, the destruction of the Planet Buster - the second moon of the planet - has unleashed a quantum surge upon the Beast Warriors. Half of the main cast are upgraded into Transmetals - a mix of metal and organic in one body. Meanwhile, with the second moon gone, and the Energon stablized, the cast has a realization - this is Earth - in the past. The war is no longer for Energon and territory - now to settle the future of Cybertron. New combatants arrive, and others fall - some due to kidnapping, others to save the future. Cybertron in the Warrior's original time is made aware of the Beast Wars, and sends a familiar agent to deal with them all. But he fails, and with his plans and troops either ruined or scattered, Megatron makes his ultimate move - one that will either change history... or destroy it. My favorite episodes were Coming of the Fuzors, Part 2, Other Visits, Part 2, Code of Hero, The Agenda Part I-III.
I actually think Transmutate is a better episode than Code of Hero. Code of Hero works wonderfully as the end of the Dinobot character arc which had built over the course of the series, but isolated loses something. Transmutate has just as much gravitas but without the necessity of prior episodes. It gives you everything you need from Rampage, Silverbolt, and Transmutate all right there.
I'd pick Code of Hero, but that's way too obvious and as said, only really works as the culmination of Dinobot's story arc. Transmutate is good but feels very rushed, and The Agenda should perhaps be considered as one episode in three sections. So it's Bad Spark! Rampage has a truly memorable introduction, there's lots of Blackarachnia and Silverbolt interaction (ohh err!), and Megatron is at his devious best.
If the poll was for a story arc or interlinked episodes, I would vote Agenda all day long. However, Code of Hero is the only Transformers media of any kind to virtually bring me to tears. As a standalone episode and for that reason alone I cannot vote for anything else. (no I didn't cry when Prime died!)
This is a hard question to answer. I really like Code of Hero (of course) and The Agenda, but I also love Transmutate's mature, allegorical themes that are unusual in what is essentially a tv show made to sell toys (it's about how society treats the mentally and physically disabled, though obviously taken to extremes). Coming of the Fuzors, while it was essentially a "HEY NEW TOYS" opening double episode, I really liked the wild west showdown at the end of part one. And laughed at how many times the Maximals kept claiming to have run out of ammo but then mysteriously being able to shoot later on.
As a kid, I just liked to think they meant they needed to reload. Now, I think they're just hamming it up. But yeah, even the "BUY MY TOY" eps were some of the coolest, mostly because of the build-up.
Code of Hero. I do like The Fuzors saga and Transmutate and the Agenda, just not as much. CoH is just a work of art.
Season 2 was flat out awesome, but I got a thing for "Coming of the Fuzors Part 1", because that was the first BW episode I ever saw, and that's what got me hooked
The Agenda was a perfect season climax, and really expanded the scale of events. Overall, I liked the pacing of the second season best. While Transmutate was one of my favorites, (Other Visits was up there too) I'd have to hand it to The Agenda three-parter, (I can't really decide which of the three I liked best however, as I consider it as a whole).
Completely agreed. I mean I love all of the second season, but The Agenda/Optimal Situation completely takes the cake.
