With all of the talk about the G2 Botcon, people are naturally comparing to previous Botcon figures. What individual figures are your favorites from the FP Botcons?

2005 - Deathsauras - First time we got a Japanese character in the US, and I thought the deco was a lot better than RID Megatron, whom I'd never owned at that point.

2006 - Megatron - Ever-so-elusive, I think this is a great mold with a great headsculpt and overall a great toy. I just wish I owned one...

2007 - Dreadwind - Everyone goes on about the seekers, but I think Dreadwind came out the best of the bunch. His head was spot on. The mold they used was perfect, and he tends to get overlooked among the rest of the 2007 figures.

2008 - Megatron - I loved Shattered Glass, and while the toy they used wasn't my favorite, the deco and head made it top the charts in this year for me. His characterization in the comic added to it a little bit more...

2009 - Banzai-Tron - I never would have connected how similar the heads were on Energon Mirage and Action Master Banzai-Tron, and so this worked out perfect. As much as I love Leozack, Banzai-Tron wins for this year...

    Anyone else?

I only have figures from the 07 and 09 sets. That being said I really like Dreadwind and Scourge respectively.

Leozak, Thrust and Kup are awesome too.

    I still need a Banzaitron and a Flak :(

I don't have any but, if I could get a set it would be the 2006 set. That whole set was great.

When I found out BC was going to be in FL this year, I contacted FP and offered to bring my complete set of BC toys for a display, but they weren't interested. *shrug*

My list is almost the same as yours, except for 07 and 08. Bugbite is my favorite from 07 (Dreadwind is nice, but the Jetfire mold could be better), and my favorite from 08 is... probably Hot Rod.

Ratchet and Leozack would get honorable mentions, but for one-figure answers, there ya go.

    2009 - Razorclaw
    2008 - SG Megatron
    2007 - Thrust
    2006 - No favorite - I like the ensemble
    2005 - Ratchet
    2004 - (OTFCC) Sentinel Maximus
    2003 - (OTFCC) Roulette
    2002 - Cyclonus
    2001 - Tigatron
    2000 - (meh)
    1999 - Windrazor

Other than an "surplus production" 1995 Nightracer, haven't bothered with any other convention toys.

    2005 - Deathsaurus, hands down

    2006 - Axalon Primal

    2007 - Dreadwind. He's just so great.

2008 - SG Optimus. It's just such a great look for that mold

2009 - Banzaitron. He's got a place of honor on my Classic/Universe Decepticon shelf. Never would have expected that mold to look so damn good.

2010 - Jhiaxus. OMG. This might be the best figure FunPub has ever given us. EVER.*

Those are my picks. Can't wait to see what future years bring us. I hope we see some Animated molds at some point.

Hmmm.... FP should take note that Deathsauras, Dreadwind, and Banzai-Tron are on almost everyone's list. Imagine a set that had that level of cool in every figure.

    2005 - Deathsaurus
    2006 - Darksyde Waspinator
    2007 - Thrust and Dirge
    2008 - SG Starscream
    2009 - Leozack
2010 - G2 Ramjet, if they bring it out.

I have never been to a Botcon, but I own most of the base figures they're repainted from.

If the rest of this year's set is as good as Spark and Breakdown, I'll consider it consistent quality

2005 - Ratchet/Ironhide mold - much better than the over-complicated classics versions, and a nod to the originals with the 'medi'-decks.

    2006 - Not really bothered....

2007 - Dreadwind, really good use of existing mold

2008 - Goldbug - loved the 'evil-bug' look of the head mold

    2009 - Razorclaw

2005: Ricochet. Cyberjet + ninja deco = yespleasethankyouverymuch.
2006: Axalon Primal. Season 1 Primal deco + non-beast-alt mode = frickin' sweet.
2007: Mirage or Dreadwind. I really don't care much for Seekers or tribal tattoos.
2008: SG Prime. You can't go wrong with the Classics Prime mold.
2009: Flak. New head and a solid deco on a decent mold, despite being sort of a nobody.
    2010: TBD

    2.) 2007 - The entire set ( minus some tribal tats ) .
3.) 2005 - Deathsaurus ( Mainly because I won him from 3rd place in the TFCC "Design a Cover" contest. ) [IMG]
    4.) 2004 - Sentinel Maximus ( I know it's OTFCC and not BotCon. )
    5.) 2006 - Laserbeak

I only have a handful of exclusives from a couple years.

2007- So hard to choose since I love all 5 figures in the box set and I was happy to finally get an Alpha Trion Toy...but I think Thrust is my favorite. The black and deep red just look killer. I have to cheat and Tie Dreadwind and Alpha Trion as second

2009- Razorclaw. It makes that subpar Leobreaker mold at least LOOK cool. Skyquake is probably in second place for me, I think all the translucent parts and the explanation for them in the bio are very well done. Banzaitron is great too, but thats a given since I still love the Energon Mirage mold.

I really want to track down a 2006 box set. All of them fit the characters theyre intended to be perfectly but Optimus Primal stands out to me. And I want to snag a 2005 Deathsaurus and Richoshet. Only characters I really care to get from that box set.

I usually don't like many of the molds selected to become botcon toys and I only own one official botcon toy!!

1999 Tigatron (he isn't here yet but it has to be as awesome as X9 Ravage).
