Bram Stoker's Dracula, but not because I liked the movie all that much. The reason the film fascinates me is that all of the effects were done in camera. If that doesn't sound amazing go back and watch it again. When I first saw it I just assumed certain shots used CGI, but later learned that in fact every single effect was done in camera and my mind was blown.

    Twilight.

Jk lol I'm just kidding. I gotta say Let Me In. But I have a feeling my new favorite will be Fright Night 3d after it comes out.

I'll always be partial to Nosferatu. Something about that film is so...unnerving. It's shot in such a creepy fashion. In the same way, Shadow of the Vampire always comes to mind. Such a great companion film to Nosferatu.

The original with Bela Lugosi with Bram Stoker's Dracula a close second.

I'm surprised by just how many of those I've seen.

I always like the idea of a vampire movie, but in practice, an awful lot of them are pretty mediocre. I even found Twilight to be reasonably passable stuff compared to some I'd watched.

    The ones I liked were:

    Shadow of the Vampire,
    Bram Stoker's Dracula,
    Dracula (1931)

The Fearless Vampire Killers was a very impressive production, but I don't 100% like it, for whatever reason. I part like it.

I love Christopher Lee as an actor, but of what I've seen, I haven't liked any of his Dracula films. He's great in them, but Hammer was barely capable of producing movies worthy of his presence. Satanic Rites was particularly rubbish.

The more recent Van Helsing was fun, in an awful, Michael Bay sort of way. It wasn't a horror movie at all. Just over-produced trash. But I think I got a kick out of it on some level.

I also really enjoyed The Omega Man, but I never considered it a vampire movie.

Interview with a Vampire... probably. Played with immortality very well.

Vampire Hunter D, much better than Bloodlust, which was prettier and had nice set pieces, but the original had a much more sweeping scale and was just a better film.

Blade was awesome. Except for the end... powered up Deacon Frost, while better than amorphous blood cloud, was still shit.

The new Avengers film had better be about Vampires, like that recent Marvel Ultimate Universe about Vampires.

Only decent movie I've ever seen with vampires in it is probably Blade, other then that nothing else really unless you count Hellsing but that's an anime/manga series.

This is funny. I took a class on Vampire Cinema. No fucking joke.

Out of all the films we saw I LOVED Nosfyratu the Vampire, 70's remake of the famed silent film. I won't lie. I think it's superior to the original. My main grip with the film is that it drags on too fucking long but that helps builds its atmosphere, without it wouldn't be as effective. Not to mention the film subverts the tiresome "vampires are sex gods" trope, and gave us one of the genre's strongest heroines without being a badass huntress hottie, she was just a badass hottie.

    US trailer.
