theres been a bunch in the season so far (one more ep to go), which one is your fave? mine is the bumblebee posing for art from airplane. that one was totally random and the fact that was no way you can mistake it for anything else. it was kinda funny from airplane! but i find it even funnier that TFA managed to sneak in such an obscure joke. ok your turn.
Well, my favourite homage is Blitzwing. My favourite in-joke was the A-team scene in Headmaster. That was funny.
i dont consider blitzwing as homage, in the sense, hes already a character. i dunno. i was thinking of specific scene/detail. ooh, good call, the a-team one was nice too.
there was an episode in G1 season 3 where rodimus, magnus, springer and arcee were transformed to humans (the episode with Cobra ) the fuuny part was that their human forms got clothes and look just as their robot form =P
I liked in Sound and Fury, at Sari's birthday party there was a pinata that looked like BW Megs with a little purple T-Rex.

They used back the old G1 gun sounds Just feel like listing down some by the way... Prime's nose is movie influenced. Megatron's head is movie influenced. Matrix + Cube = Animated Allspark
Oh, good thread. Gotta be Bumblebee's novelty car horn in Nanosec. (Go watch it again...) Two I've noticed but not seen anybody mention, I may be reaching here: In Sound & Fury, one of the kids is wearing a Prime t-shirt that's far more G1 than TFA... At the start of Lost & Found, when the crushing of the lunar probe references the 2007 movie teaser, anybody else get a vibe from Blitz & Lug's flight pattern that remind them of Megs and SS at the Hoover Dam in the movie (just before "You fail me yet again...")?
My favorite would have to be Soundwave's G1 alt mode (both times). Though I really do like the Airplane joke, simply for the randomness of it.
The entire episode of Sound & Fury. Other than that? Maybe the G1 footage in the first episode. Even if id did cause that whole argument on whether or not animated is in G1 continuity.

One thing I'd love to see would be at the beginning of 'Megatron Rising Pt. 2' Have Starscream staring at Megs and say 'Megatron... Is that you?' and then have Megs reply with 'Here's a hint!' and blast SS away into the distance Team Rocket / Smash Bros. style. (note: blasting him into the distance, not destroying him)
I wouldn't necessarily say it's the best, but in the pilot movie, having Spike, Carly, & Daniel (in their 2005-era jumpsuits) enjoying ice cream in the establishing shots of the city truly set the tone of what to expect in the future.
Kremzeek! I liked that G1 ep and seeing him show up on that technical difficulties sign brought a big smile to my face.
the reference to Starscream from The '86 Movie where Bumblebee spotted him almost the same way Hot rod did.
