Yeah, he rocks (God rest his soul)!!
We Irish love him because he made a mockery of the stupidity of the Catholic Church at just the right time over here...and you just and beat a lovely girls contest!!

The best episode was when a bunch of priests end up in an underwear department of a shop and them tyring to get out is done like a war movie...classic.

I love how RTE (Irish excuse for a TV Channel) try to pass it off as their own work when they had NOTHING to do with it's creation at all.

Tomorrow's the anniversary of Demot Morgan's death BTW,

The sad thing is, he'll always be remembered first and foremost as Fr Ted Crilly, when he had much more to offer.

He was a regular on a radio show called Scrap Saturday, where political figures would be lampooned. One of the best known impersonations he did was of Charlie Haughey (Irish PM - infamous for his corrupt nature, and willingness to take a brown paper bag from anyone.) After one particularly hilarious skit, at Haughey's expense, Scrap Saturday was
mysteriously canceled at a time of a high ratings....

I don't know if much of Morgan's pre-FT work made it over the water to mainstream UK media, What I've seen/heard is only because of internet research...

I actually saw that one for the first time recently after tracking down some cheap DVDs, t'was most hilarious. But I think my favourite bit will always be the 'My lovely horse' dream sequence when that horses head goes all disco-pulse at the sax solo. :D

Aaah Father Ted, what a great show, truly brilliant, especially the episode with the Priests-over-85's football match

They actually turned it down. And sold Zig and Zag. Stupid RTE!!

Ahh C.J... only in Ireland could a man be convicted of gun-running and still go on to run the country. The man was so much of a crook you actually have to give him some respect for having the balls to do the things he did.

lol - I saw the news stories about that when I was in Ireland last weekend. I love that two islands are completing to be "Craggy Island" for a year.
