Normally I dont post these, but I watched This video and was blown away. I know this car was fast, but this is in a whole new class of fast. I love the line, "At this speed the tires will only hold up for 15 mintues, but that ok, because the fuel will last only 12." This should be the batmobile imho.
^Yes. I am going to go home after work today and vroom Cybertron Smokescreen all over my apartment. (Here's the youtube link if you can't see AJetfire's)
On the topic of Top Gear, did any of the other UK folks watch it on Sunday? The team getting chased out of an American town by rock-throwing rednecks is one of the funniest things i've seen on TV in ages.
The Veyron is so pretty. I'll never understand the nostalgia for American cars. I think the TG guys are right. They're near uniformally awful. Phazer
Saw this vid the other day.... pretty impressive! It's also supposed to go from top speed to 0 in less than 10 seconds.
Here is the race against the plane http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2146239632210951932&q=top+gear+veyron&hl=en
The Top Gear Hick thing was not staged, they have a thing on there site about it. Pretty dam funny though. The Veyron was supposed to release somwhere in the 3-5 years ago range, and yes it does kick ass after the waiting. Tom Cruise could not even open the door at his MI:III night last year.
I liked the hick video. Kinda funny. If someone had something negative about something I liked I'd let it go. I'd never throw rocks or anything.
Pretty? What're you smoking lately, Phazer? The thing looks like a bar of soap. Oh, and on the topic of the American Cars....may I assume you mean the muscle car era? If you've never driven one, then I see why you dont understand. Part of that lack of understanding can probably be attributed to Europe's constant exposure to "pretty" and flashy sports cars. The American muscle cars of yore were exactly that - tough looking, maybe not lightning fast like newer models, but they had powerful look to them and most engines had that rich sound that sung of down-and-dirty power. IMHO, thats the characteristic appeal of those cars.
wow, once he got up past 300kph, you could just really see the blur outside the windows. as for them in the south, I'm embarassed to see the reaction people had to them.
