I never did get why they insist on putting a visor on Hot Rod over there... looks bad... but again, I'm a sucker for Hot Rod, so it hardly makes a difference.

Well he did use it once in the movie when he fired on the hijacked Autobot shuttle.

Yeah, now if only they could get the rest of him the right color please. I don't see why they need to be screwing arround with crap color schemes just to sell an anime version after. Isn't the other seeker repaints which I will happily buy as well good enough.

Face gimmick looks clever. I really wish this guy would come out after Nintendo Wii of course. I'm saving the money for it, and I don't want to buy Starscream along the way.

The face gimmick is super-cool, I was wondering how they were going to do it!
His head doesn't look like its got a lot of movement from that pic tho if it's attached to that hinge.

Rodimus looks good. I'm also liking Starscream's head gimmick... very nice. They need to make a full size Autolooper... a full size Mazda RX-8 with a police kit would looks snazy... and I'd call him Streetwise 'cause Autolooper sounds doofy.

    Jeje, Starscream's gimmick is cool.
I want to see Rodimus in colors before saying anything.

Yeah, but Autrooper -- which it is almost surely supposed to be -- sounds pretty decent.

I love complexity and clever gimmicks but that face changing trick could have been handled better. The way it's been done will prevent any real movement in the neck area and how you angle the head of a figure has a dramatic efect on poses.
A better idea would have been to have the top of the head on the hinge, or the back even.

The same update shows some shots where his head seems to at least rotate just fine, I'm not complaining. I aadmit I thought it would be closer to Alpha Quintesson's face swapping gimmick, one switch and it spun around, so his expression was easy to change and it might look better.

No toy ever had it though, aside from the larger PVC figure. One minute of use compared to 20 years of non-use doesn't cut it unless the visor can be stashed in his helmet out of view. Which would actually be a cool gimmick if Masterpiece ever gives us a Hot Rodimus which is probably very likely.

Are we sure that it's a visor and not just shaded so that we can't see his eyes? I'm thinking it's not a visor.

Autolooper, Autolooper, Autolooper!!! How can you not love Autolooper? Maybe I'm just crazy but Autolooper sounds terribly cute (or maybe Skies of Arcadia has driven me crazy). Regardless of how the name will be printed on the box or what others call him, I will know him as Autolooper! :D  :D  :D

(Come to think of it, there aren't a heck of a lot of excitement type smilies on this board... most of them are made for anger/shock/conflict/et al).

For real, every TF Voyager size and bigger needs a rotating face from now on. It's just an awesome idea.

Between the rotating face, the heretofor unseen elbow pistons, the Megatron gun gimmick, the interswapability (shut up, it is too a word) of older Starscream weapons, and that group shot showing how freakin' big he is next to the BT Decepticons, this toy could well be one of my all-time favorites (I know, I know, they're all crouching, but he's still pretty big).

It's like everytime a new photo shows up, Takara's saying, "Oh, and check out THIS awesome little thing we forgot to tell you about. Did we mention the fact that the toy is sentient and will make you sandwiches if you ask it nicely?" It also seems like every photo is progressively less blueish, and more greyish.
