Maybe in your opinion
Meh. I kind of feel the same. I usually like FT's designs, but I'm not into this one. I'm not a fan of the alternatives out there either. Maybe I'm just not a Seaspray fan?
Weird, because I had G1 Seaspray back in the day, and that usually means an insta-buy from me.
So we've got TW's on one end of the spectrum and FT on the other... and the XTB one looks like it's going to be the goldilocks Seaspray
That said, I do like my FT Seaspray quite a bit. He may be a little flat, but he still looks great with his buddies.
I usually likes 539 designs but not his seaspray.
Yeah, if I had to rank them based on looks alone, it would probably be XTB first, then FT, then TW a pretty distant third. Of course, XTB's ranking is based on a render. Who knows if/when we'll actually see it.
As for Spindrift, he just seems too, IDK, skinny? I don't need a chubby seaspray per se, but something about spindrift's is just a little too scrawny.
Ft needs to make powerglide. We need a good mp powerglide.
Yeah, that's what I meant about flat. I also like the way XTB did the windows where FT doesn't show 'em in bot mode. I guess I'm a little easy to please because all I had for a long time was the igear version haha
Ok, This guy is not exactly Seaspray but I like him as a figure. he looks great in alt mode and Pretty good in bot mode. I feel he looks more like toy than toon though. I like him. I thought I would feel worse about him with lack of paint but I like him.
Dude, xtb is making a v2 and dx9 is knocking it out of the park with theirs. Fanstoys can't do everything, and this time they'll think better not to do poweerglide.
They need to do it. Dx9 is a huge fail and doubt xtbs will look any good.
DX9's looks great to me. XTB's will probably look really nice too...the only question is how will the quality/transformation be.
I'd rather Fanstoys get to churning out things they've already announced before they start taking on new projects. There's quite a backlog currently, and that's not even counting their kind-of-announced constructicons.
Dx9 is way too big.
Really? You're really that biased? Fanstoys could make one, but it couldn't compare to xtb's alt. mode, which everyone knows is the best out of the group and the detail, the hasui detail, which fanstoys has been raving on since they even began, would look to be about the same as dx9's. Sometimes to understand 3rd party is to go to the other side and try it. You just might like it.
Its only a fail becuase its too damn big
Maybe in your opinion.
If you want it to scale with fanstoys seaspray go ahead, but it doesn't look right. Seaspray was also one of the bigger minibots and I think toyworld has hit the scale just right, I mean in this pic, do you honestly think mp-21 is a little small? Bumblebee was one of the shortest of the group and powerglide isn't supposed to scale with bumblebee, he's supposed to scale with other minibots. If you look at this shot, are the minibots too big, or are you saying that mp-21 is too small? This is what we'll get and this is what I think is the perfect lineup. I mean, look at huffer or even windcharger, they're bigger than mp-21 because he was always chosen to be small from the beginning. Don't pull up a g1 scale chart, pull up your masterpiece scale chart like so:
AND HE'S A FRICKIN' PLANE, HE'S GOTTA BE BIG SOMEWHAT SOMEWHERE!!
That's already implied...
