No I agree, I guess I meant more the opening sequence, those iconic 15-20 min are what really geeked me up for Kup back in the day when I was a youngin' ... think I first saw the movie around '91-'92 so Cable/Bishop/Wolverine were the 3 guys I idolized around that time (along w/Rafael haha)

Gotcha. Yeah, the sequence in which he took out the Insecticon with Blitzwing is pretty badass...but yeah, the rest of the movie, he was sounding like someone's grandpa.

I thought the fight with the sharkticons was pretty bad ass and the demolition derby was his idea.

I don't want to argue with you 'cause I think you're cool and all, but that couldn't be marked more clearly as being for polycarbonate. I've been warned from using that for anything else (although a lacquer based primer generally takes care of that). Besides, as much as I LOVE Tamiya's acrylics and lacquers, I wouldn't call them industrial grade, and they're...just trust me, that's not what manufacturers in Asia apply to consumer goods.

Fair enough. I couldn't find that color quickly in their standard paints. Now I'm curious, what about Tamiya vs industrial paint outside of durability is your position based on? Obviously the stuff they use is much more durable but it doesn't seem that part would be much at risk of scratching.

I think I know what this is missing for me. A neck. Does his head have a clear neck or not?

I'm really getting disappointed with FT's lately. Grimlock looked like Robot Jurassic Park (until the new head comes out). Seaspray looks like he went on some diet and worked out a lot from the cartoon. This Kup is the wrong color and his chest is just way off from how IMO it should look. It's almost like the whole TT change of direction thing with their MP :(  Sovereign and Phoenix were great though of course...have to give them that.

I thought "make it look like the cartoon with real world detail" was their thing.

Your opinion may vary but I've bought everything of theirs up till now and even been accused of being a FT company shill. :D  Now I'm looking at other options for most of them.

EDIT: Maybe if it had a different windscreen it would help a lot. I'm just not sold as is right now. It's too far off from "The Movie" Kup.

Sold! This is my Kup (although I like the previous color prototype as well).

Woah. That opaque window makes a huge difference. And is it just me or is this one of FansToys best faces yet? Definitely has that Kup vibe to it.
I think the colour is also improved greatly. Could afford to be a little more muted/muddy to get that sense of age to him but it's pretty great now.

Ad this is now almost ridiculously accurate to the toon. Curious to see if you still feel disappointed @boomerdave ? They've totally turned this around for me.
The yellow accents on forearms and belt buckle, the grey squares on the knees. They even got the little yellow bit on the inside foot. They've got all the right colours and all the right details in all the right places. This is shaping up to be one of the best figures they've done in a while.
Such an amazing evolution. And that's why FT are such a winner, they never sit back and rest on their laurels. They keep tweaking and adjusting each figure even after prototyping (even after release with add-ons and extra's, new heads).
