I'm fairly certain it's an energetic lovemaking session between a 20-foot pile of disassembled model kits and a sack of cheese graters.

Just got my re-release Kup, yay!!

So, can the head tilt down when looking at either side? Mine keeps coming back up to central position.

    So........

What are the differences (if any) between this re-issue and the original koot?

Did they fix or improve anything at all?

It would take someone who has bothered to purchase both to know, or you can ask FT themselves directly, but i am not aware of any qc issues that needed fixing or that FT would have sent spare parts for, thus i assume nothing has changed.

Some people did a mod to make transformation easier. We are wondering if those mods have been incorporated into this second release.

Yay! received my KOOT from TFSource. He's an excellent rendition of Kup. Bigger and weightier too. I love it. (I dare not transform it due to all I've read about it)

Which totally defeats the whole purpose of buying/owning a TRANSFORMER. :(  I learned that the hard way with Apache.

My preorder dropped into my POL on BBTS. I feel like I have a gun to my head in purchasing this thing. Not from BBTS, but because Koot is the ONLY game in town if you want an MP-style G1 Kup. XTB's version is a very long ways off (if it is even coming out at all), and no other 3rd party has hinted any interest in doing their own. The same goes for the illustrious Takara. Sure, FT nailed Kups robot mode aesthetically, and he has decent articulation, but there are so many things wrong with it that kind of sours the milk so to speak. Waist swivel ruins the sculpt, literally. As does the window split. The transformation is simply dreadful. Kind of odd since Kup is pretty much a straight-forward design overall with the G1 toy. Instead FT went to town making it over-complicated.

So, yeah. I dread dropping $100 on this guy. But at the same time, if I don't, I run the risk of never having an MP Kup in my personal collection. I just hope I will warm up to him once I have him in hand. Apache failed to do so, but I see with Koot. Even that XTB you have pictured there I find to be a whole lot more enjoyable to transform and mess around with.

I think that the opinions re: his transformation are somewhat blown out of proportion. You have that small bit with the minor flexing, but it isn't as bad as people say. I like his transformation a lot better than Willis's or Sovereign's. You can always do the fix.

Also: has anybody ever broken him during transformation?

I know I'm in the minority in a big way but after adding some custom paint and weathering I actually like Toyworld's Kup better (although I have and display both).

Got mine. Great figure. Transformation wasn't as bad as I was expecting.
