Seriously? No Wheeljack replacement? Wheeljack deserves a replacement. It's needs to be tooned up for sure. The legs are off somehow and the dark green needs to be lighter. And the roof is too big in bot mode. More toon please!! We want more cartoooooooon!!!

 

No. We don't. Toon is nice but I want my MPs to look like the g1 character if it were walking around in real life, not an animation cell. Wheeljack is the best looking takara mp carbot. He's pretty much 100% kibble free and just looks great all around.
Willis fits that aesthetic for me as well: looks like the cartoon character but isn't toon to a fault. Looks exactly like I imagine he'd look in real life. And something about the tires in the back of his legs just really hits the spot for me: I love that they're visible so he really looks like a transforming robot but they're also integrated into the legs so he's pretty much kibble free.
As for the other takara carbots, I'm pretty happy with them and I doubt I'd replace them even if ft or others did them. The Datsuns are great with their only issue bring that I wish the roof collapsed into their backs a little better and I wish sideswipe's hood collapsed to make his chest narrower but otherwise I love them. Hot rod could really use a collapsing backpack. Ironhide definitely needed that X2 kit but I also wish he didn't look like he was wearing a diaper (I might actually replace him if a better one comes along).
Oh and tracks is garbage. Definitely needs a 3p version.

 

There is a reason I didn't include anything from Ironhide on in my list of figures I don't NEED a replacement (there are many before that, but not for the "too toon" reason).

That said I would like 3P to do Wheeljack just because he is one of my favorite characters and would like more versions of him.

I haven't heard of it but it is certainly needed. You might want to try sending a PM to @dalianjj , the FT rep to find out for sure.

 

Can't speak for legitimacy but there's at least one eBay auction saying "2017 reprint." Could be scammer using the hope of a reissue considering we've heard nothing here...

I tried to pm dalianjj but he hasn't replied. I doubt he's being reissued any time soon. I haven't seen it on preorder for the big online retailers.

Wasn't detective the product name for another third party mp? Maketoys maybe? That makes it dodgy even before I had a look at the eBay page
