Wonderful setup. What combination should I buy? Limited edition? Colors? I noticed how certain gold colors are different. Should I swap Grinder for MP Grimlock? Most likely to be kept in Dino Mode

If you are keeping Grimlock in dino mode MP-08 works just fine. That said, Grinder is my favorite figure. From a quality and engineering perspective he's much better than MP-08, and I believe every bit as good as Stomp (the FT dinobots get better with each figure, with Grinder and Stomp about equal...so Grinder = Stomp > Sever > Soar > Scoria). Here's some robot mode pics of the team from my set up:

And one dino mode for scale (and of course you can get the G1 head if you prefer it):

Preordered Stomp for the August release. Now to figure out in what order to get the other FT Dibots of Sear Sever, and Grinder.

I have Grinder and Soar. Grinder is my favorite masterpiece so far. The build quality is top shelf.

I love how FT made Grinder. So much so that I also have the blue shorts variant on Pre-order as well.

Yes! I feel the same way. I skipped Scoria in favor of Cesium. Seems to be an improvement over Scoria. Stomp, or Sludge used to be my least favorite of the Dinobots. That changed with seeing reviews of Stomp and reading how much he is liked by people who have him.

Which one in the series should I start out with? Stomp or Grinder? One of the more rare ones (which one is rare I'm not sure)? Does Grinder look out of place in Dino mode? Hard to tell from some pics.

Suggest to get Scoria last with the hope that Cesium will be out by then to help you decide.

For the rest, get what you can get first.

Better yet get all of them at once!

Grinder does look a bit too big in Dino mode compared to rest. It all boils down to your taste anyway.

Stomp is quite excellent dude. If you don't have Grinder yet, I HIGHLY suggest him. He's an excellent piece, and definitely the best MP styled Grimlock we're ever gonna get.

I thought it was July. Oh well, I'll have to get Sever to tide me over until then.

Stomp is my favorite Dinobot, and the last one I need. I got Soar and Scoria like 3 days apart from each other. I might pick up Grinder in the future too. I missed a chance to get him for $170 shipped, but I'll eat that one.

    Ebay:
it originally had an ETA of late June early July. How strange FT seems to be delayed in a release.

But Stomp in dino mode is the smallest of the Dibot lot. His dino head is the smallest of the Dibots. Does that look right to you? If there is no way that Stomp in dino mode can be the biggest without making the robot mode too big also, that's ok, but Fan Toys made Stomp dino mode the smallest.

Even Stomp as a stand-alone toy has a small dino head and scrawny neck in proportion to the rest of the toy.

Fan Toys could keep the scale of the actual Stomp toy as is but enlarge the dino head and dino neck so that it is at least the same size as the other Dibots. Grinder should also be smaller so that Stomp can better fit.
