Man I feel like a jackass...yesterday I was finally able to preorder mine from bbts, and then after I did so...I saw that Toy Arena had these in stock...wtf!?!?! I might see if I can't cancel my preorder, and go order these over there.

Can you take some pictures of him in different poses whenever convenient?? I can't wait on mine and I'm curious as to how poseable this guy really is.

 

Looks good, but I am still taking a pass on these. The fansproject parts look really good, but the Hasbro parts still look really bad. I had a ROTF Bruticus, but I returned it since I lost interest in the set.

 

who is the red/ blue robot next to bruticus? it looks so cool, is it a fansproject item or not?

They run the Transformers Collector Club, Nexus Maximus was a repaint of the energon combiners they released to club members.

It has components from both Superion Maximus, and Bruticus Maximus, with a remolded combiner head for Nexus Maximus.

It was released as the free annual gift for club members. Once a year, a single piece of the combiner would be mailed to OTFCC members. Heatwave, the torso piece/Barricade redeco, was released last year. So the release was over five years, from 2004-2009. So they're long gone by now. And because of their limited, exclusive status, each part fetches a decent sum on eBay. Not absolutely ridiculous (I think each component is still under $100), but not cheap by any means.

This year's free gift was Dion, the Universe Hot Shot redeco.

 

It's a translucent red/blue version of mixed parts from Energon Bruticus and Superion. It's long gone, the individual bots were released one at a time over a couple years to members of the club.

 

Maybe X03 is a retool or repainted kit for Nexus Maximus. They have all the molds for feet and hand for that combiner. Just take half a set from the Superion kit and the hand and feet part from the Bruticus set. Then mold them in clear red and purple. I'm sure people will get that kit to make Nexus Maximus not suck and its a logical choice for FP as they like to repaint stuff.

I think X-Fire 3 is their combiner they are making.

It makes sense.

#1: Upgrade Superion with better arms and feet.
#2: Upgrade Bruticus with better arms and feet, as well as two new limbs.
#3: Create New Center guy, and 4 new limbs, as well as a wealth of accesories.

great pics! I just picked this set up yesterday - it is perfect except for one thing:

I cannot clip in the FP Bruticus head/stand thingy on to ROTF Onslaught...the clip just will not snap down, the bar is too fat or the clip is too narrow. Anyone else have this problem?

Otherwise it's awesome...It's almost a shame to keep it in the combined Bruticus mode because the robot modes of the Swindle and (blast off?) are just amazing - they gave the two figures all the articulation a fan could want minus articulated fingers.

 

I hope its for Devastator, he badly needs hands.

 

Could you imagine if TFX-03 was Menasor! It would suck so much! Don't get me wrong, I love Menasor. But I don't own any of the repainted figures that make up the team. I would have to search for those figures or the ones like them to repaint. If I'm looking on ebay, we all know how the price of these figures are going to skyrocket because everyone will want them. I really hope that this combiner upgrade is of the Decepticon kind. The Decepticons from the CHUG lines are terribly outnumbered. We need some balance!
