I realize that.. hence why they should remove the pegs off the knees of the character that came from the munitioner mold.
They already took the time to take the port out..

 

Funny how people tend to forget the energon version which can be found for abotu $25, and at least 3 of the 5 molds aren't stupid colors.

 

That would require them to modify the existing mold, which they're not going to do.

 

And where is this magical $25 version? Even the Energon/Superlink sets you speak of have been shooting through the roof these days. Steamhammer alone is the only reasonably priced piece, since he was rereleased for Universe. The limbs, however, can get costly. And gift sets climb more and more each day.

 

What I hope Crossfire-03 is, a Energon/Superlink colored versions of Explorer and Munitioner with the add-on parts.

 

I have been looking over the FP Insecticons and I have noticed that they are ambiguous enough to be based on both versions of the Insecticons with just a simple repaint.

CA-03/A Stormshred = Bombshell/Barrage
CA-04/B Thunderbomb = Shrapnel/Chop Shop
CA-05/C Backfire = Kickback/Ransack

Either way, I am very excited by what is on offer from FansProject in 2011

 

Looking at the alt mode for Swindle & Warcry, it just dawned on me that another good recolor candidate might be G2 Ironfist. (please let this happen)

 

That is cool. Fansproject naming conventions always homage the original. Backfire correlates with Kickback nicely but I wonder if you just swap the other two names Stormshred and ThunderBomb they would correlate better with Shrapnel and Bombshell. I wonder if they placed the names wrong?

Anyway, really cool and definitely a must own along with the HOS insecticons!

That's where I found my "magical" $25 energon devastator about 6 months ago.. I've seen NUMEROUS for $30 or less since..

Sure people will try to charge an arm and a leg for the Energon version (probably assuming Fansproject will have an upgrade set coming), doesn't mean you won't find someone who's willing to part with it for a good price.

Yeah, Whereas the combiner port part is just a part switch.. It's just a shame because I can put up with the pegs on Not Swindle for the combined mode.. I can't stand it for somethign that doesn't combine.. If I get it.. I guess I'll be sanding it off..

 

I'm sure they left it on on purpose so for those who do have the Crossfire set could utilize the combiner pieces.

So they left it to save money on a new mold.
