I just opened my Steelcore I'd had hanging around for a while.

I like him - Though I do agree wrist swivels would be a big help - I look forward to getting him a trailer one day.

I would also quite like a core that had matching blue or another shade like green over the light blue one, and some sort of 3rd party chest accessory to cover up the hole in his chest when the heartmaster isn't plugged in.

He has a nice solid feel over all he kind of reminds me of G1 Roadbuster in someways.

The only real complaint I have is the weapon store in either mode is horribly ill thought out and his hands not rotating. (the lack of any 5mm holes of clip bars isn't ideal).

I also might note his hands are a little tight holding 5mm posts that causes a slight worry sometimes and the hitch bar is worryingly shallow too.

But overall I can't help but like him despite the quirks and the arguably dull vehicle mode. Many of his little issue and perhaps even his weapon issues might be addressed in the future and the vehicle should look a lot better with a trailer on board.

But I have to ask would I buy a future repaint at full retail price no - probably not.

Oh and on the subject of weapon storage the blade does fit nicely on the end/side of the long barrel gun to give an axe or bayonet look. But I've yet to find the perfectly secure place to put it in vehicle mode as yet. So hopefully if or when they make a trailer they will include weapon storage on the trailer for the blade.

It's tricky, but there is a place to store in vehicle mode. It's easiest explained if you watch Peaugh's YouTube review. Glad you finally opened him, I love Steel Core.

Even with the regret of not buying this when I had the chance, I'm not paying $140 for it.

Great figure. Nice and chunky design and has a good heft and quality materials to him. The Breastforce gimmick is odd to me (I checked out of the fandom by the time Headmasters and Breastforce rolled around when I was a kid) but the little guy Steel is pretty neat. Wrist swivels would have been welcomed with the main Core figure though.

Still, the kitty-faced head sculpt, while solidly done, bugged the crap out of me (FP is not the best 3P when it comes to faces) so I used FP Steelcore as a base to make a custom IDW Fort Max.

I think it came out pretty well.

    Nice!

Now if they'd only reissue this dude (andother color scheme would be welcome) and sell them ANYWHERE other than FPCore.

Thanks. You may get another chance at this guy if the Virus (black) redeco's are any indication. I'd keep tabs on the FPCore site for updates.

I see they still put up outdated info on that site :p

Anyone else that can log onto that site unable to "access" the trailer page?

Awww sheeet. I hope it does more than be a transport van for the little guys, but that's all it seems to be. It's certainly not armor as there aren't seams everywhere. Looks MUCH better than the comic's undetailed grey depiction.

Kinda sucks the trailer doesn't seem to take advantage of Steels trailer hitch point. Even the tiny mini version of this that came with Assaulter can do that.

I got my Warbot Steel Core today off a local. Goddamn, I wish I didn't miss out on it the first time. An absolutely fantastic figure that reminded me why I fell in love with Fansproject in the first place. The trailer looks pretty awesome. Can't wait to get it!

I already posted these in the other thread, but I figured I would shore than here as well. Here up are a couple mounting/storage options for SC's gun in botmode.

First up is a shoulder mounted option for SC when he has his hands full, with Blesser and Sidearm hopefully.

Next is more of a "holstered" storage option for when not in use, as opposed to the active firing position in the shoulder mount.

I know, it looks a little goofy, but it serves its purpose, and more. You can take Blesser and plug him in as sort of a back pack config.

The best part is that you can still use SC's ab crunch joint and his waist swivel by using the hinges on the gun and rotating Blesser as nedded.

And finally, I also found a place to store Sidearm in a holstered position on SC's hip, opposite his stock gun.

    A little closer view...

    And from a wide angle...

The drawback to this is that you need to keep the canopy in a locked position, so you lose the ab crunch and waist swivel.

Heres a couple pics of SC fully loaded...

And when you absolutely have to kill every Decepticon in the place...

TFao I quite enjoy your photos of Steel Core and I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who pairs him up with Blesser and Sidearm.

I did the same. I actually found both Blesser & Sidearm (and those gold fins for Protector) for $35 on ebay.

I grabbed them specifically to go with SC after seeing Vangelus' review. I think he was the first one I saw put this trio (quartet?) together.
