I want this so badly. I love the color scheme, and both modes look great. I think he would fit in quite well with a Classics Wreckers collection as an original character.

Yeah, I really don't see the point of getting transformable toys & never transforming them. I'm drawn to the engineering itself. The more complex the better.

This guy is absolutely awesome. I love him so much more than I thought, and I loved him a whole lot before! Leg balljoints are way tight and actually made it hard to keep the pelvis pegged in, but no flaws that I can possibly see. Transforming him was nice and easy to the point where I was overthinking it.

As the great Gaben once said: Worth the weight.

I just realized that this toy is the realization of everything I wanted from a Transformer when I was a kid. I remember getting Headmasters Hardhead back then, thinking "Wow, this is the perfect size, not to big and not too small, and it has a little buddy robot that can combine with the bigger robot and ride in the cockpit. The only thing that would make this toy better would be if I could move their arms and legs more."

Both my 12 year old self and my 36 year old self thank you, FansProject. :)

Fansproject Steel Core Review | The Daytime Ninja

I know I'm a bit late in posting this, but I thought I'd throw it up anyway. The full review can be found on my site below, while a condensed, partial review is also posted below!

    FULL REVIEW HERE:

Fansproject is arguably the most notorious 3rd Party Transformers company in the collecting hobby today. With projects such as City Commander, Protector, and their infamous versions of the Insecticons, they've become a staple in the exploding realm of 3rd Party Transformers. Steel Core was something that was teased sometime last year, then known simply as "Hearmaster", and we didn't get any new pictures until around April, after Fansproject came out of a hole that seemed like a 6 month hiatus. After finally getting my hands on Steel Core, I can safely say that this is one of the funnest and most posable Transformers I've ever had the privilidge of owning.

Steel Core's torso looks stunning, and the details on Steel (Fansproject's name for the heartmaster minicon) really hide the illusion that a little guy is plugged in to Corer's (Fansproject's name for the big bot) chest. Steel pops out very easily, and plug right back in just as easily as well. I was kind of worried that when the minicon was out of the chest the main bot was going to look empty and incomplete, but after looking at him for a little bit, it's not as bad as I thought. There's still detailing and good paint apps beneath where Steel goes, despite being a little hole there.

Overall I think Steel Core is one of my favorite Transformers toys ever. I talked earlier this week stating that I think this is the year of the 3rd Party, and this release by Fansproject no doubt backs that statement up. With both a solid robot and alt mode (not to mention the great transformation) Steel Core is definitely something to be reckoned with. If you weren't able to secure a figure through fansprojectcore.com, I would highly advise you to grab Steel Core at the next possible opportunity. You won't be disappointed!

What sword is that? I'm still trying to find a suitable sword for my SC.

Also, now that the hype is settling and some time has passed, I just wanted to say that I still truly love this figure. It's just a joy to roll around, transform and pose. Can't wait to get more core figures and whatever other add-ons might come along. So far it's my pick for best transforming toy of 2012.

That is the Dr. Wu Prime Sword. Peaugh has a review of it here in the threads. It is made of diecast and very nice. Thought I might throw a pic in here for fun.

I was out of the loop when this came out are they releasing a second wave of this figure or did they already do it. Or are they just do a repaint?

FPC did a "2nd run". It was originally said it should make its way to e-retailers eventually, but that is in question, since FPC is now saying it's a site exclusive.

It has also been said there are no plans for a repaint.
