Oh, Steel Core. Probably one of the major 3P figures I wish I had...
Maybe I'll track one down some day. always thought he looked great.

Ah that's a good idea if you have the shelf height to accommodate.

Unless you are putting your figures through a grueling workout with regular (I'm talking daily) transformations and rough play you shouldn't be shaving that much off the ball to make it stupidly loose.

Personally I have found that they hold up pretty good if they came tight out of the box. If a ball joint was going to be loose on you it's usually loose from day one (as a result of poor fit and finish i.e. Columpio).

For the occasional transformation or change of pose on your shelf, theoretically the figure would remain tight indefinitely. That said a loose ball joint is easily fixed with Future polish/Super Glue/Nail polish.

Aside from his head becoming loose a little everything else is as tight as it was when I removed it from the box a few years ago and I repose and transform him a few times every year :)

    Nail gun from Char...

Admittedly, I had no use for this guy when MPs sized better with the Binaltech line. Then MP-10 happened...

Suddenly, Steelcore became a gateway to a whole slew of third party figures that "looked pretty dang alright" with Sideswipe and Prowl.

same here. I always felt he looked amazing. I thought FP was on to something with this guy being that he was an original transforming character. Alas they never followed through....

Yeah, sometimes it's nice to get original characters. Especially well executed ones.

Side note, I actually managed to nab a Steel Core. Popped up on TFSource a while back through their vintage department, and sprung on the opportunity. Glad I did. He's a wonderful piece of work.

$150 I believe? A little more than I was comfortable with, but considering the age of the figure, the fact I always wanted him, and the lack of foreseeable opportunities to acquire one, and that he was new in box to boot, I figured he was worth it.

if you guys keep an eye on ebay you'll eventually find him for a decent price, hell I recently repicked him up for around 60ish dollars. Really good deal on such a great figure.

I'd willing pay $150 for the entire package of SteelCore+trailer+Ruthen+Osmi in a heartbeat if I didn't already own them. And $60 for just SteelCore is an absolute bargain!

I remember when the trailer came out I kept Steelcore and sold the trailer and bonus guys for aaaaaalllllmost as much as I paid for the whole set. I don't play with him much, but considering he was essentially free, I have no issues with him.

I'm selling my standard Steelcore if anyone is interested. He's loose/complete with his box, but I never got the trailer, so sorry guys.

I saw that you listed/posted a bunch of cool weapons with your steel core in the cool stuff 2017 thread. can any of those swords/guns be purchased separately or were these all different parts from other figures? and how well does the backpack fit with steelcore? still able to pose with it on?

The backpack works great with SteelCore. Doesn't hinder any articulation whatsoever. As for the other weapons, I would need you to tell me which ones specifically you wanted to know about.

The two large bladed weapons, one orange and one blue, that store on the backpack all come from Perfect Effect.

I also arm my SteelCore with the replacement katana that was included with Maketoys Battle Tanker. But there have been a bunch of ko's that are available for purchase.

I also like to give Fansproject Sidearm and Blesser to him. They really match the color and aesthetics being from the same company.

Beyond that, I posted a ton of other weapons that I tried out on him and others have as well. Try to link to the pic and I'll help you out if I'm able.
