has anyone else done this little mod for fansproject explorer using fansproject's superion maximus's add on set?

i have found that with a small amoutn of mod work that fansproject explorer/blastoff can use the hand held guns from the set that would normally be used by the stealth fighter jet airealbot figures

the only slight mod to be made to them is that for exlorer/bastoff to use them in vehicle mode you have to cut a very tiny amount of the gun handle off from the front of the gun handle

just enough to give the front of the gun handle a squared off look

left uncut through the front of the gun handle the guns can still plug into place at the handle into explorer's/blastoff's hands in robot mode.

take a good look at explorer/blastoff's vehicle mode where the arms would normally tuck into the sides of the body for robot mode

you see that small hollowed out space that loocks like its half swuare on top and half circl on bottom

the gun handle mod is just so that they can plug into the sides of his body in that hoolow space for vehicle mode .

you know those parts from the superion maximus add on set which slot into place over the lower legs of the stealth jet airealbots?

well with a bit of dremil work i have found that it is entirely possible to salvage the entire gun mount top section from the 2 add on parts to use them as gun mounts on the sides of explorer's /blastoff's lower legs

i filled in the entire hollow bottom with sculpy with the 2 guns plugged in on top

i then slcied off any sculpy from the sides and bottom of the gun mount part

the sculpy formed a impression aroud the gun handles as it set and hardened

    i then removed the guns

next i placed a cutting knife against the outside edge of each notch which the guns slot into

i cut off all the plastic on the outside areas of the notches

the guns can still slot into place on the gun mount part and the part is just long enough front to back for it to be mounted into place on the outside of explorer blastoff's lower legs

basicly this whole mod is to make it so that the guns can be set up on the sides of explorers lower legs in vehicle mode and robot mode and also when he serves as bruticus right arm just like the guns on the orginal g1 blast off toy

the picture of the lower arm in the top right corner

    http://i98.photobucket.com/albums/l...rs images/Transformers Classics/superion4.png
see that 8 sided section on the outside of the armored lower arm

thats the section i salvaged from the lower arm armor

i filled it in all the hollowspace inside and underneath it with sculpy with the guns plgugged into the notches on top
then once the sculpy had set and hardened i removed the guns and sliced off all the remaining plastic that was in front of and behind the set of gun notches

with them set up behind explorer/blast offs wings on the outside of his lower leg they just happen to fit perfectly asa set of improvised gun mounts

I think Sancho was asking for pics of the finished product on YOUR bruticus.

Well said. And, if you don't mind, could you PM me pricing and how to order your exgraver sticker set whenever you have the opportunity?

Didn't know they were on reprolabels. I just remember reading him advertising them, so I was under the assumption that he was selling them independently.
