That's definitely an odd looking bot.
Fansproject is turning into Failed Project.
Eh. Was looking forward for these but the engineering looks terribly outdated. Pass.
He's weird and I love him.
Feels like some of the cartoonier representations of things I've seen in some IDW stuff. Only complaint is that the limbs look a bit spindly but that's minor to me
Just think of him as Animated Rapido.
I think it's time to turn those resources to the FP Snarl.
I feel the same. G2 Rapido was one of my absolute favourite figures as a kid (pink windshield version for the win!) but this doesn't capture the character. Proportions are strange, arms and legs too spindly, and what is even up with those feet.
Hopefully another company will take a stab at this guy eventually. Or heck, maybe Hasbro will eventually give European G2 the same update love they're showing to late-era G1 at the moment. I'd take modern versions of the Accelerators, Clench, Pyro, Rotorstorm, and just about everyone else, please and thank you.
Cars always sell so i wouldn't count it out for Hasbro to do the european and G2 characters eventually.
It's not really fair to call it Fansproject whether it's positive or negative feedback on the item.
Exactly, I wonder if MAAS or some other company will acquire FP's snarl or any other FP projects. Do many people are waiting on it. I actually just caved and bought Summanus a few days ago, as I'm sure many of us have.
Maas said they had no plans to do the remaining fp dino
Oh well, either way it's a pleasant surprise to see that some of this stuff is going to see daylight.
I'm not sure on this one. I picked up MAAS' War Within BB and his nice, but not amazing, and the plastic feels on the lower end of quality. I'm also not feeling the weird proportions on the body design.
Just a couple of photos of Speed from a different angle. I was also able to play with the pose a little. You can see a little more below the double jointed knee and how the foot parts actually look.
The resin is really really loose and crazy hard to get to stand. There is a lot of glue holding this one together.
I can see where people are coming from. with the movie references. Gives me the vibe of those hybrid items under the hftd sub line.
If the use of the rounded "toe-claw" is optional rather than required, as seen with the left foot, that is already a marked improvement. A round claw doesn't seem to fit with the otherwise angular look. (It doesn't look nearly as claw-like on the full-body art in the first post.)
I think the head looks more like Optimus Prime than Rapido in some ways.
I would like to see the kibble fold more closely around his arms to look less "Datsun-like" (again, closer to the original art).
I can see some potential here. I'm looking forward to seeing how this evolves.
Yeah, I think that's the better comparison than straight movie figures. Not entirely the Generations aesthetic, but adjacent
Not a fan. I think if the chest was smaller it'd work way better. I get what they're trying to do with, have a lean 'athletic' speedster mech, but it just doesn't work here. Real shame because the original art did get closer to that.
I honestly like it. As a design it takes risks and while I wish you could fold down that back pack for the sake of balance I do enjoy what I see. Fingers crossed they do the whole team as I really want this to be MT's come back... also this would look boss with Striker Manus
