will fansproject ever do a classics devastator add on kit? it would look so cool. i dont know what to do on the devy add on kit yet. its alot for 100.00. but it does still look decent. did anyone email fp yet? i know we all would love to get one of the most popular tf characters ever to have a modern upgrade. then total everything together, will be around a 200.00 to 250.00 plus figure. its getting pricey these days. i still need to save up for knight morpher, the devy devastator add on set, protector, bruitcus add on sets, superion add on set, just bought warbot. just those will be around its adding up so fast with all these new shall we say ko/ whatever you want to call them, unlicense products coming out into the market. but either way i will really wish for a fp devastator at any cost.

 

It's always a possibility, but this one'd be tricky. Devastator was already the best proportioned and most stable of the Energon combiners, so there's not as much a problem there.

The big problem is that he's not built at all like the original Devastator, so to make a new set capitalizing on the character's G1 appearance will be... tricky. And if they're not going to go that route, then really, why bother? Apart from not having "real" hands, there's not much to improve on this one.

maybe soon they will just do all new figures like warbot? then maybe arcee by fp would be the best arcee by far. btw i got a warbot. does that one count? the only problem is i left him in the box, so i cant transform the awsome toy. i would feel bad opening up a 80.00plus toy. maybe when i get more fp items in the future then i will open it.

At the rate that FansProject is going I really wouldn't be surprised to see them do an entire Devastator without it being an add-on to anything. I could see them doing it as three two-packs.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if they do one if the mold is ever repainted and re-released again. After all, both the FP Aerial team and Combat team add-ons were produced either when the "base" figures were available on retail shelves or shortly thereafter. Given that it's been quite awhile since Classics Devastator was released, and since the figure itself was a hard-to-find exclusive, there might not be enough of a market for it.

It would be nice to see an upgrade kit for it, though. The "base" combiner was already fairly good, so just making better hands, a new head/face and a chestplate would probably be enough.

 

Where are pics of these?? I've never seen em.

 

This is the main reason why I would prefer FansProject focus on a different toy.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if FansProject already have the designs for an Energon/Classics Constructicons update on hand, and are just waiting to send them to the factory if the molds were reused.

 

In theory, if Fansproject were in the business to make an upgrade for devy... my bet is that it'd make one figure that splits up into the extra bits... i.e. chest crest, hands, feet, maybe head... it'd one up the bruticus update, but it'd also solve the need for 6 constructicons dilemma.

Collector is based off of Wreck Gar. The unnamed Warbot is based off of Broadside.
