    OK,

I don't how many here are nuts as I am:

I got the City Commander in 2008 for my Classics Ultra Magnus, and we know what happen later...

So I did get the extra add-ons in '09; but I didn't like how loose the missile launcher was on the trailer.

Finally in the last 2 weeks, I decided to order '09 City Commander, and it came this Monday.

So how many here did the same? And did you sell off the '08 City Commander?

I almost did the same thing because I'm anal about having the best possible product. But then I figured that the armor would never see the trailer mode so I just didn't bother.

I still think about doing it every now and again though..

I'm sure a lot of people did the same. I went one step further than you though I bought the original CC armor and then bought G1 UM missile launchers for the shoulders. Then when the new FP stuff came out I got the add on set and the newer CC armor.

Yeah, I have the '08 City Commander and the later upgrade set. My missile launchers aren't loose.

I've got the '09 version and the missiles still fit loosely on that version, or at least mine, as well

I just bought the new version with the extra weapons, cuz I broke the neck on my 08 version. Funny thing is I repaired the 08 and now it has better head articulation than before, and its more durable.

Im thinking of repainting my 08 into the powered convoy armor and changing the head...but it seems like soooooo much work to paint it. I would need both hands and that would mean putting down my beer. :drunk

Same here, my missles fit just fine. Gotta love the finished product with the upgrade kit, Magnus as he should be. Before the upgrade kit I did have my G1 Magnus launchers, and that was cool enough for awhile, but then I realized it'd be cooler to have his own more Classics upgraded looks and feel. A wise decision I believe.

Actually the preorder for the '08 release at BBTS I believe was somewhere from 74.99-76.99. Something along those lines. And the '09 release was either 79.99 or 89.99. Either way, 88 bucks is not a bad price for this guy, GRAB'EM!!!!!

The reissue included the upgrade kit for $88 I think and the upgrade kit by itself was about $13 so

    $88 - $13 = $75 (original cost of the first release)

I just picked up the 88$ one from BBTS. I'm content with it.

Maybe when there's a translucent yellow Classics Prime for it to go with. And one that's not some "limited to 50" Lucky Draw-type exclusive, or something, but a more mass release.

Considering that's probably unlikely, I'd say never.

I sold my 08 version when the 09 was announced, I didn't know that the missiles would have fit on the 08 version at this time or I would just have buy the upgrade parts.

Now I have 09 version so I'm not unhappy at all about the issue but just buying the upgrade part would have spared my Ultra Magnus months of naked posing. :p

I bought the '08 City Commander and use my G1 Ultra Magnus Japanese reissue missile launchers and missiles (this was the Magnus Takara reissue from 2000/2001). They work great and fit nicely in the existing holes--even modified the G1 Magnus gun to fit in his hands. The only thing I don't like overall is the oddly large hands (the thumbs seem way too long and the fists are skinny and long). I plan to do some modding to add some Alternators hands instead.

    Great kit though--love that sucker.

I have the original 08 CC armor, and also bought loose original G1 UM missile launchers for the shoulder. Won't lie... heavily considered buying the 09 set (because I too, like Wyvern, always want the "best possible" newest shiniest version of stuff), but resisted & just bought the small upgrade pack (because I "had to have" the new UM rifle & classics version shoulder rockets). Mine fit pretty snugly on the trailer in alt mode; no complaints.

Late at night I wonder though... does the 09 CC armor have the minor improvements that FP made on the Shadow Commander armor? Like I thought they did some engineering fixes to make it easier to slide onto the legs, or some-such. Those thoughts drive me bonkers, so I try to forget about it...
