But that's what the original Menasor was my friend (in the cartoon).
Eh, I have seen the screen shots, but I have seen others where he wasn't.
This is not a G1 figure though. It is a re imagining.
But like I said, for the money, I am looking for a bit more then City Commander meets Colossus.
nice review peaugh. I like him. very cool transformation.
I didn't realize this until the 2nd time I saw the video, but the upper torso of M3 isn't just Diesel's rotated 180 front-to-back. It's also rotated 90 degrees top-to-bottom. Diesel's back ends up as the "bottom" of M3's "torso upper half" while his chest is the collarbone area of M3. (correspondingly, Diesel's collarbone area make up M3's abs)
Yeah, the way M3's head reveals and then the whole torso moves around for combined mode is one of my favorite paeta of that transformation.
Yep, cool as hell isn't it? Very clever way to completely alter the look of the torso.
Peaugh now that you had him for awhile would you mind making a list of things to watch out for breakage? You mentioned them once or twice but, i think, it would be nice if we could have them concisely in one place. For example i saw the front wheels are loose and, beyond a point, they don't move any more. How is that part? Did it feel fragile? Thx
Peaugh, thanks for the detailed review, as always.
I decided to pass on this set much earlier this year and every piece that has come out has validated that decision. If I did end up buying this set it would absolutely stay in combined mode all the time, as I think that's the best looking part of the entire team. None of the individual bots/modes "wow" me, and the fiddly transformation means I would for all practical purposes, just not transform him.
I really think you would like MT Giant. The combiner parts are all integrated into each individual figure so there's none of the City Commander style parts-forming. Even the combiner hands are hidden well as trailers which hitch on a couple of the individual vehicles. As far as combiners go I only have that and FP Colossus, which I acquired first. As much as I dig the aesthetic for Colossus, I was really impressed with the engineering of MT Giant. Just one more reason I am really excited to see what MT's Quantron will bring.
Thank you for the video. Kept me from chewing my arm off till mine arrives.
Reimagining or not, when I handle Intimidator it feels like the Menasor from G1 that I've always wanted as a kid.
I have a feeling that for those who initially pass on Intimidator some will end up regretting it and pay insane aftermarket prices later the same way FP's Colossus turned out.
