Man I hope that's not the final color scheme. He's too plain up top and too fabulous down below. I mean, my dumbass is gonna buy him regardless, but I ain't feelin' that paintjob.

I've been disappointed with FP's almost-but-not-quite G1 approach, but Broadside looks amazing. It helps that the G1 toy looks like a steaming pile of red-and-gray turd.

Even though I've stayed away from a number of "close-enough-but-not-quite-there" Classics and 3rd-party figs, I'll make an exception for this one.

Was Broadside ever that big of a deal, its not like we're talking about Jetfire? I don't recall him from the G1 cartoon, but I never saw the Rodimus Prime era cartoons after the movie. I didn't know they made Transformer comics in the 80s either. My small town wasn't exactly the hub pop culture info.

Isn't that almost the same price as Steelcore? We got a discount but it was allegedly $80 for non FPC members. Doesn't seem right that this costs $10 more....

He never was. That was a custom mock up someone did for the show. Steelcore does not intentionally homage any known Transformer and was designed as such.

You can think he's Waspinator for all I care, but the fact remains he was never designed to homage anyone.

Honestly, I think we should be happy it's *only* $10 more. Assaulter is much bigger than steel core and has diecast.

Yeah, a $10 markup seems like nothing for what you're getting.

I think that's what deaculpa meant? That's how I read it anyway, that $10 doesn't seem enough.

FP gives fans the best prices. Let's not try to convince them otherwise ;)

Yeah, I can see it reading that way. Whoops if that was the case.

Here's a shot I took at TFcon showing them all together.

I have the money in my bank account waiting to jump on this as soon as it goes up. I really hope it's actually $90. For a toy this size with die-cast and more than one alt mode that's almost on par with official prices.

i'm still debating on getting a steel core off the secondary market or waiting for them to do re-release him in a new deco. It seems like a fun toy but I wasn't gonna be buying direct...I don't like playing the guinea pig.

Assaulter looks pretty cool but I'm still kind of on the fence with him.
