Keep in mind one of the impersonating Autobots was Windcharger who is half the size of Jazz, Mirage, and Sideswipe. The answer is simple, they were using magic camoflauge paint that not only changed their bot mode but their alt mode to, plus made Prime's Trailer not have to disappear.

DX9 is 50cm, the same as TW Devastator. XTB is 49cm so almost the same. FT will be between 50 and 58cms, assuming it is the same as their Superion which is "tallest ever" and "in scale with Terminus Giganticus"

Hydra was the common theory from retailers a couple of months ago, but that had been a guess. It isn't surprising to me at all that it didn't end up being that way.

Didn’t starscream impersonate Optimus Prime?  

 

In the masquerade episode it never showed the stunticons next to an Autobot in bot mode which is weird. Then when the autobots were in disguise, they were never once in bot mode with the Decepticons, so bot mode didn’t really matter. The bot height didn’t need to match up since they were only in alt mode. The only bot reference shot in that episode was the uncover Autobots in the background of ratchet, which they were up to his shoulder. But as another member stated it was magic camouflage so who knows lol.

 

I went back and looked at that episode where red alert goes crazy and the decepticons(starscream) try to use him for another one of megatron's evil plans, in the episode Red alert is basically the same height as starscream. Starscream may be a head taller than red alert max, for me it illustrated that the car bots are too small.

 

If it were to move closer to ratchet, he would be the same height.

 

The car-size comparison photo is actually just a mock-up with digital renders, not a photo with actual prototypes... which is odd since they obviously have the prototypes. I wouldn't trust it...

 

It's not that difficult to work out the size of the vehicle. Using sideswipe & Crackdown's left leg wheels, Crackdowns is about %20 larger. Either the wheels will be disproportionate to the vehicle or the entire vehicle will just be %20 bigger than the takara lambos. Photo for how it will scale if the wheels are kept to the same proportion as the official lambos.

 

It's not that difficult, but you've enlarged a different character in alt mode based on that bot mode wheel size.

Do apples to apples resizing. Wheel dia is not the same on both figures.

Of course not. The point is he took the diameter of a different character's wheel and enlarged another character's alt mode. Spoilers alt mode would be significantly smaller than what he depicted. I posted the 2 FT up above so you can see the wheel diameters.

 

You've doctored the alt mode photo to fit your own conclusions.

 

You forget that Hound has special abilities. In fact you conveniently forgot to mention that in that episode the Autobots "combined" to form Menasor using Hound's ability.

 

I expect the altmodes to be about the size of the DX9 ones.

It was Windcharger not Hound, that used his magnetic ability to let the autobots form Menasor.

 

I assumed he did that deliberately to show what the scale would be based on his estimates from the bot mode comparison.

 

But, the original announcment post already has the official side by side comparrison. Yes, I know the alt modes are renders but they already have the dimensions from the CAD. The physical prototypes may or may not be glued in bot mode but all the engineering is complete. There is no reason to dispute the provided side by side comparrison.
