Been lazy and haven't filmed a transformation video, but I did receive the replacement chest today and I felt like I was holding a baby. I haven't assembled it yet but have decided on just carefully storing it until the current chest is totally scratched to hell and then attempting to replace it... If the new chest is just as bad, at least I've just lengthened the life of the figures luster, and best case scenario is it is actually way stronger and doesn't scratch.

It might also give me some time for the protective coating solutions mentioned here to have stood the test of time enough for me to confidently do the same.

 

Just got mine.

Surprisingly intuitive transformation, and I was prepared to hate it. All the way at the end, I had a (really) hard time pegging his forearms into the thrusters, but otherwise pretty smooth. Saved the chest for last, and I'll be surprised if there's scuffing, but it does worry me for the future.

Too pretty looking next to XTB(?) Scourge, and his cockpit makes him look too small somehow. But it's nice to complete the Unicron set.

Wish it had a low rise flight stand, and was more purple and less two toned, but it's nice looking and feels good.

 

This would be the best solution. Even just include it with Scourge!

 

“Hate” is a bit heavily worded. More like simply a lack of interest in the official line. In my opinion, the third party scene is just so much more exciting than TT.

 

On the one hand, I shifted to primarily collecting third party stuff because I had a glut of bad experience with QC problems for official figures--Quietus having similar issues to the many MPs I've skipped because of paint chipping problems is a huge frustration. On the other hand, Quietus is absolutely gorgeous in both modes and so far the paint issues are only a few scuffs on my copy, even after about a half dozen transformations back and forth. So, I dunno, he's been in bot mode looking beautiful for a while now, I think I'll just treat him like a poseable statue for a while.

 

FT is giving us Mindwipe, Cyclonus, Skullcruncher...
TT just finally gave us Sunstreaker, Movie Bumblebee and their BW MP's seem priced with the intention of discouraging people to buy them so they don't have to make them anymore and can just enjoy themselves making MP Optimus repaints all the time.

 

Been waiting for someone to do that scene. Good job!  

 

have to agree completely with the time schedule....that being said I think FT "usually" does a better job than TT on MP figures. They do seam to have lost a step since the dinobots though. Hopefully they can get that back, maybe someday when blitzwing (berserk) does finally get released. For now waiting on a complete set release on their superion and menasor to start comparing to other companies. Other than repaints, doesn anyone even know if TT has another g1 MP coming? have not heard.

Umm. Not the case . You have to know where to shop . Obviously , if your going to pay the retailer to import it for you , then yes , prepare to pay a hefty dollar. Or , go to Amazon Japan , and pay the normal prices.

 

thanks, forgot about hound. awaiting to see if I replace my fans toys version. I doubt it but will wait and see. FT did a pretty good job on the looks of theirs and don't see the need to throw away money if its not a lot better as I don't buy shelf warmers. That being said TT did convince me to sell my xtransbot megatron when they came out with mp-36 (mp-05 sucked).


also checked out your link. interesting. Still wish TT and FT would put out more though as patience is one of my virtues. I want to complete my collection and be done.
