Goatees are the way to go.....
Which e-tailer in the US has him for the “best” price right now?
Just got him today from baba. Anything I need to know before transforming him to plane mode?
Looks great, hopefully they do a second version, maybe with less blue in shade in future, because I cannot afford Quietus right now.
This is the kind of figure FT will reissue in slightly more purple colors and push back other figures we want more in order to bring the reissue out sooner so you end up spending money on that instead of the new figure we haven't gotten yet.
The MP Shockwave Treatment.
Got this guy yesterday and I'm really impressed. I didn't have much of an issue with the transformation, only problem I'm having is getting the cockpit panel to lock in and sit flush in jet mode but I'll get it worked out. No scuffs in the paint (yet). I do wish it was a darker purple but that's a tiny subjective nitpick.
I doubt it. I've practically been begging for a bluer Sovereign and a lot of people asked for him in toy and/or comic colour but he got reissued just the same.
I was thinking of doing the same. Takara chrome gets a coat fresh out of the box anymore (thanks to Ironhide getting that authentic "played with for years in the 80s then stuck in a toy box" worn chrome look after just one handling). Is there a noticeable difference in finish?
Got him today. Haven’t transformed yet, but it’s definitely good quality. The finish is amazing!
Any tips on how to free the sword from the holster?
Some people put some shock oil and just worked it and it came loose. Some one else said try a hair dryer and heat it up but I haven't done either so it's a "at your own risk" thing.
I'll take some photos tonight.
Thank you! The hair dryer is an option! I may have some shock oil from Losi buggy kit too..... good to know. That shock oil won’t take the paint off or is that brake fluid that does that?
Brake fluid will remove paint for sure. Someone said they used the shock oil a little ways back in the thread and said it came out fine (Not sure who it was). You could also use gun oil if you have some. That stuff is pretty gentle as long as it's not cleaning solvent, you know...just plain gun oil. It's cheap and I use it on my Transformers all the time. Works fine and its gentle. Just make sure it says it's safe for plastics if you use a different one than below.
Wal-mart carries my brand. @CigarJackal is a chemist and he also verified it should be ok (but maybe can double verify) based on its MSDS but I can say from experience it's kind to my toys (and gun).
I wouldn't soak my stuff in a barrel of it for days but a few drops to loosen it up won't hurt it IMO and experience. It's also very watery so great at getting into tight places.
I don’t know if I saw this anywhere, but when I transformed him back to robot, his arms didn’t have that nice ratchet anymore. Well I found out if you pull the arm out until it clicks and then snaps back in, it will work again and keep a nice space between the chest and arm.
That was interesting !
Quietus is one of FT's best work! i love it
Mine just shipped out. I can't wait for it arrive. I don't know whether or not to display it facing off with MP-22 Ultra Magnus or FT Apache.
It's going to look less out of place posed with Apache. Magnus towers over him (which I'm fine with... season 3's everyone-is-the-same-height-as-everyone-else-in-this-scene animation shortcut aesthetic doesn't hold any water with me).
Got mine in tonight. What a gorgeous figure. In hand, the primary color looks fine. Not pick-your-picture-perfect, but really good. The finish is great, the feel is great, the articulation is close to great, the accessories are great. The sculpt is amazing if a bit lankier than I'd prefer. Haven't transformed it yet because I may not want to put it back into bot mode.
My Sovereign is boxed up and stored away, but Quietus looks great next to Andras (who also serves as an excellent color foil since he's so blue). Really good stuff.
This is the look after one coat of pledge.
It's a bit irregular in it's texture, but generally pretty smooth. That said, one coat doesnt protect it from scratching further so I'd need to add more coats if this is going to work.
Dang! That sucks. I'm going to try the ceramic coating I used on my wife's car. It is supposed to have a hardness rating of 9h.
