I do have to wonder if Fanstoys have forgotten about this guy, considering there's been nothing since 2016!

Given the overlap that goes on at the factories between 3rd party and official figures it wouldn't surprise me that FT have gotten wind of an official Trailbreaker coming down the line and therefore this project may have been ditched before any more money is wasted.

Pure speculation of course but given the lack of updates...

Takara did announce they are working on one in the sunstreaker interview, so its common knowledge one is coming.

I still think an FT one may not sell that badly even with the official coming. There are two prerequisites though:
    1. Keep the detailing. This one is a given.
    2. The transformation better be incredible. This is unlikely given FT carbots so far.

A TakTom MP Trailbreaker will be in that horrible (IMO) toon style, so I don't see an official version killing FT's eventual release.

Yeah, sorry, I knew about that but maybe there's something more concrete that Fanstoys are privy to? Maybe not of course, maybe that interview was enough.

Bite thy tongue! Love or hate it (you seem to hew closer to the latter) the toon style is the "house style" for the MP line and I for one love it.

And to the person who mentioned an interview with Takara about MP-39.... do you have a link to said interview? Thanks!

Yeah, the toon style completely killed my interest in the MP G1 line, yet funny enough, the BW toon accuracy makes me want all BW MPs...

    I'm such a hypocrite. :lol

Switching "house style" half way through a product line makes my old stuff not match with the new stuff. Thus, I am stuck buying 3P because TT decided a year or so back that they wanted a new look.

Will be first in line to get a FT-Trailbreaker.

I'll be in that line as well. I'm happy with XTB Aegis as a fill-in for now but I definitely can't wait to see how Takara renders both him and Hoist. Add to this the fact that (sorry animated-look haters) he'll be in the toon aeshetic and he'll be a winner, winner, chicken dinner!

I'm in the camp of the old Hasui style, blending in toon, toy, real world together. And I'm also less than ecstatic with TT's new direction.....however, starting with Megatron, I do like the emphasis on greater poseability, and hence why TT MP's still attract me in some manner. I do think the + line is kinda useless. You can cartoonify MP-12 all you want but to me it still doesn't match the aesthetics of Sunstreaker. TT should've just done a new mold, or tweaked the existing mold similar to MP-3 to MP-11.

    I'm still in on FT's TB. Didn't bite on BC's, MMC's and XTB's version.

For a compny that has only put out 6 new G-1 MP molds in the last 2 years, I don't think that redesigning an existing minor character is on their to do list.
