And once FT get wind of an imminent release from a competitor, out comes a prototype. Outsiders prototype stopped me from buying badcubes version.

Takara announced they were working on him and Hoist. Don't exactly know how FT is supposed to make a better one sans diecast. Atleast it was only a render

There's lots of things that are seen that aren't public. I'm not saying there are official TB pics knocking specifically around but TT have said they're working on one.

So I guess this, hoodlum, and berserk are now cancelled because of TT rumors/releases.

Grinder will soon be "canceled" for a grimlock+, so everyone needs to pretend they didn't buy one since FT won't release a figure TT is doing.

Hope he isnt cancelled. I have a full price pre-order down on this bad boy since May! Will be a total faff to have to cancel and get a refund, especially as its not the shops fault.

Don't forget the all talk about FT scrapping Hoodlum because Takara is doing MP28. We all saw that turned out to be untrue.

    He isn't. No worries.

To me it's all about the transformation. If it's as sucky as Koot and Willis, I am out. I am not looking at Inferno level transformation, just something sensible.

It boggles my mind that alot of people on different threads can't tell the difference between a render and a prototype pic. They really need a bigger clearer monitor before they posts nonsense.

To be fair, a lot of FT material sits in render phase until someone is lucky enough to get their hands on a prototype, and then it exists. That said, I can't imagine why Outrider would be a priority if TT is going to do a Trailbreaker and Hoist design in the near future.

Yeah, that's not what "vaporware" is.

I never preorder unless there is a significant financial incentive for me to do so.

true. i've stopped pre-ordering also unless it lines up with an ebay coupon with a trusted ebay seller.

i used to do it all the time when there was an actual discount, but it seems those days are long over!!!

The only place that currently offers discounts (off of already below NA market prices) for preorders is Taobao. That would be the only place I would preorder, especially for FT items.

vaporware - software or hardware that has been advertised but is not yet available to buy, either because it is only a concept or because it is still being written or designed.

Do I seriously have to spell it out for people that I'm not talking about hardware or software if I use the term on a toy site? Is this being graded? Can I use it in my thesis?

There are people on this site who think nitpicking or being overly literal makes them look smart. It actually leaves the opposite impression.

I'm really looking forward to Outrider and FT Hoist. I have the XTB version and while it looks the part, my only issue with the otherwise decent quality is how easily the backpack gets untabbed in alt mode when rotating the arms.

Off the top of my head... because the official one could be shit. Just because it's from Takara doesn't automatically make it the best.
