I honestly have no desire to get the derpy looking KFC one.

Those zipper wings and front of jet mode with the slopes... not good.

Also don't like the negatives being reviewed about it either.

 

I'm not worried but I will take certain statements to task. Like "such and such reputation is enough to stay away" when you haven't got skin in the game.

You are all over the place... You might buy it now? You were going to stay away because of the "KFC rep".

Also.. Pre-production sample - there aren't facts yet. What paint is rubbing off on Ditka? It hasn't been released yet.

if you actually go into the dikta thread maz has reviewed a copy and it has tabbing issue's and the white paint is rubbing off due to the transformation so if they keep those bit's painted it will have paint rubbing issue's on the final product

 

Not to mention that after one transformation my white paint on Eligos rubbed off

 

Unless the 3rd party fixes the problem like many pre-production figures have. (they shave whatever is rubbing against it on the mold or 3 coats of paint etc). It doesn't mean the final product will have the issue.

FT has had paint chipping issues in pre-production reviews too. Just saying pre-prodcution samples that have issues doesn't mean in the final production release all the time.. that is all.

I just get antsy when people take a dump on an un-realeased product for minor stuff that can be fixed even by the end consumer. More so when we play the old "reputation" game as to detour people from considering an offering when they haven't even experienced such an non-wide spread issue such as paint issues.

 

I understand where you are coming from. I just have little faith that these issues will be addressed. I doubt that us, the same people who always talk down KFC will sway anyone's mind. I'd be glad to buy this but will wait to see what the final verdict is. Lord knows I don't have time to wait on Fanstoys even though that jet and tank look sweet.

well as has been pointed out, Maz is reviewing a test sample not a final copy. It's certainly indicative of the potential for issues in the final version but it's a long way from being certain. KFC and XTB have upped their game a lot with paint adherence and the hope is that the results of this particular test will be taken into account and the final will be improved. Likewise the colour on this test is vastly different to the last test we saw and has garnered a lot of negative feedback so the hope is they tweak that as well. For now I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt based on my past experiences but am happy that FT will produce a close 2nd place that I can settle for if I need too.
FT themselves are perfect examples of "don't judge a final product by its test shot". They make tweaks to bots right up to final release.

 

KFC/XTB is in a pretty bad catch-22. Eligos took forever because they had to make a lot of revisions and though the figure turned out well it still had some of those issues. Ditka has done that now a few times and you can be forgiven for being slow as hell but not for repeating the same mistakes over and over. They have to get it right but I still see too many things there. It has gotten better with each successive revision so I will eventually get it and Berserk but they have a big backlog due to these delays and they have to start pushing out of lot of figures. It really is going to be a make or break year for them to see if they can fix this horrible cycle and consistently put out quality products. BTW, I give the same deference to FT.

 

Well KFC Ditka has now hit the streets. The only MP style Blitzwing left is FT Berserk. I hope we start seeing some test shots soon. Saving the best for last.

I think the fact that KFC/X-Transbots and FTs are releasing or have released so many competing figures is pretty good evidence that they are not related companies.

• FTs Scourge/Andras

Keep in mind that often times when one announces a figure the other follows suit with their own version shortly thereafter. It seems that related companies wouldn't try to sell the same figures, often at the same time. Maybe that's just me, though. Ditka's color may be evidence to the contrary.

Some posts have been cleansed. There was some bickering about FT fans vs FT trolls. Nothing you haven't seen before.

Still no new pics? Is there even the slightest chance this gets released in Q2 anymore?

 

Q2? Not a chance in hell. FT is generally at least 3 months to release from painted proto's sent to reviewers. I don't think we've even seen FT's own colour pics of this? I'm guessing 6 months at least till people get this in hand.
