But he's just so expensive
Thanks. You should get him or wait for the reissue. I'm still keeping Big Spring tho. My wallet NEEDS a break. Lol
I want to save up too. So is it worth it to get Big Spring instead for money's sake? He does look viable enough to be a good mp version of Springer. And he is cheap.
I don't think you'll be disappointed. So far, those that ordered thru me have been happy and no qc issues have been reported back to me.
Ive had UT Allen since released and I think he's great. I've got both big spring and Apache still in their sealed boxes and just kind of waiting to clear out some display space before I crack them open.
So many great figures this year...
Have to agree with you there. I think it was a good year to be a Transformers fan.
I think he is if you're on a budget. If you also can overlook the face and the chest not tabbing in, then he's a good MP Springer.
Yes! I'm on a budget. Thanks! The face has grown on me a bit too
Um, 1 -10 isn't the metric system... It's sort of pre school stuff
I tend to give most companies a break on triple changers. Something is going to suffer in one of the modes and in this case it was the car. Honestly the only triple changer MP I can think of that pulled it off was Ditka, all the modes *Looked* good. The QC was another issue but other than the bot color, he did look right in all 3.
Yeah when they were on Junkion and Springer was fighting Wreck Gar sword to axe. This is one moment when he transforms to car mode to do a fast retreat. Honestly, I think that's the only time in the movie I can recall.
I just unboxed my Big Spring today. You won’t be disappointed. All his modes are great and clean, easy and fun transformation. Can even hide his sword underneath car. As for the face: pull it off, sand down the sides until the eyes come all the way to the front, makes a huge difference. It is Springers face. Eyes, nose proportions are all there and the right shape, just missing the line work.
Thanks! Can you post some pics?
I will in his thread
I just opened up Apache for the first time. I am nowhere near ready to transform him or anything like that, but here are my top impressions right out the box:
1.) The heft is there and so are the great ratchets all over the place.
2.) the overall sculpt and proportions look great. I was originally a little worried about both as I looked at photo after photo of this guy online. In particular, I thought the yellow shoulder pads were a little too large. Not so in hand. They are perfect.
3.) Several of the things I thought would really bother me (yellow on the back of the legs, exposed wheels near the shins, the long fins sticking off the back of the legs, etc.) do not bother me half as much in person. I still wish some of these things could have been mitigated more during the design process, but they are not as big a deal as I originally feared.
I am really glad I got my order in right before this guy sold out. As much as I love Fans Toys, I was a little worried about this particular release. I still have the transformation (x2) to tackle...but so far...I am pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy this figure.
He could have been perfect though...he really could have been. That is immediately apparent.
So this has dried up already?
Dang, I might need to revise my "no preorder" policy.
Apache arrived today and I just spent a few minutes fiddling with his robot mode. I never really cared for the Springer character and I wasn't too excited. I was on fence w/regards to buying him until I noticed that he was selling out quickly. This is an incredible representation of the character... I'm just blown away!
He's much better in-hand than he is in pictures. In my opinion, he's as good /better than Sovereign. He has the same feel and quality finish.
I don't know who FansToys hired, but their face sculpts are now as good as any other manufacturer, including Takara. Faces used to be a weakness in their figures and now they're a focal point.
I'd say my top 5 FansToys releases are now:
FT-07 Stomp (Sludge)
FT-10 Phoenix (Jetfire)
FT-19 Apache (Springer)
FT-16 Sovereign (Galvatron)
FT-22 Koot (Kup)
FT-20A/B Terminus Giganticus (Omega Supreme)
4 of my top 5 were released in 2017, so that bodes well for 2018.
How TFTM should have gone....
"No you don't Megatron!!"
Did you customize Prime and Megatron?
