Soar will come with both silver painted and chromed wings. It will be pretty easy to exchange.

Honestly, I expect this to be FTs weakest figure, but only because Swoop is the weakest of the dinobots. He just doesn't have much mass.

I'm sorry, I really like TigerBlade and a lot of his work, but if you think that custom and this one from FT are THAT similar, I have to say that you're a little crazy. The similarities that exist are general ones that any decently G1-accurate Swoop would have.

I think people's feeling of feeling underwhelmed are understandable though. But to be fair Swoop is probably the least interesting of the Dinobots and the one that is most likely to have the same old, slightly-boring transformation.

I believe FT had already said that Soar would definitely be less than Scoria. It looks like it probably has far less parts and slightly smaller than Scoria so I'd like to venture a MSRP of $150ish.

I think part of my reason for being underwhelmed was that Swoop was my least anticipated dinobot to begin with. I also guess I was expecting to be blown away but I haven't, but the more I look at it the more I like it particularly, the uncoloured prototype!

TF isn't perfect. Heck No company is perfect.  

But, consider this: Quakewave was their first figure. IT blew things away and set the bar higher both in Quality, Build and Design not to mention the price. and now fans compare build quality of most things to Quakewave.

Like it out not, it forced all 3p companies to change their tactics. and that is a good thing.

PE's Warden was also an excellent example of the bar Quakewave had set. so is MMC's Feralcons. Quakewave even forced Takara of all Companies to release their amazing Soundwave MP just like Toyworld's Bii gave Takara inspiration for their MP BB.

The point is, every company is going to at one time or another force others to up their game. we can't expect every toy to be just as good or better than the last.

Entitlement sucks, and these days collectors have become completely destroyed by it. now they bitch and moan about everything.

Whatever happened to just enjoying the awesome ride all these companies give us?  

 

I was gonna do the line-up too, to shrink him a bit, but didn't feel like spending the time on the background to make it look good… and note that the head is not compressed (it looked derpy compressed).

 

Yup, you are right about the white. Even though it's weird because Megatron was always grey.

I know I read an article about how starscream was supposed to be grey/silver.

Well, not exactly the same. But not drastically different either, to warrant $200 or something.

 

Well, The mould cost of Soar is a little cheaper than Scoria, but the production cost is a little higher because it will have more diecast parts and come with a huge stand. So basicly they will be the same price range.

The difference is you will save $10 if preorder it by the end of May.

 

I am looking forward to painted shots. It may change my mind tremendously.

Well, I think 2 things.

At $30-$100, sure your right. Enjoy the ride.

When it starts getting into the $200 realm, people get picky.

I am not sure entitlement is the correct term. It is what a fan expects for the money they spend.

I always got annoyed by the term entitlement in this forum. Entitlement means you do nothing and expect everything. $200 is not nothing. That is put in comparison to all other figures that cost $200.

So if it is not up to par, it will be criticized.

Entitled is an offensive term, that I personally think is offensive. I know I got banned for an offensive word that I did not think was offensive for a week, so I would appreciate you not using it.

To me it is just flame batting, which is against the rules.

 

I forgot about the free flight stand! Considering that and the extra set of wings, the similar price makes sense. I am curious if there's that much interest in the silver wings though. I wonder if most people would prefer to just have the chrome set and a slightly cheaper price.

Good start, I hope the beef up the transformation a bit more than that...and chrome wings will look great. Swappable cartoon vs toy colored parts would be nice.
