So you're saying that the toon version reissue has a liver painted gun instead of a chrome gun? Can you confirm that?

 

I had the first release of Scoria and Soar and had issues with both of my copies so I sold them. But after the total awesomeness that was Sever, Stomp, Grinder, and the upgrade pieces I found myself trying to track down the re-releases. I ended up grabbing the Scoria re-release last month and finding the last known toon Soar in the world just recently.

IMHO he seems to have much better overall qc than that original I had, and the hips on my copy seem much, much better as well.

That being said, I canceled my Caesium preorder after all of these months, as I'm completely happy with my Scoria re-release as my MP Slag.

 

Does your reissue Scoria have a shiny chrome gun with red muzzle tip or is it painted silver/grey?

 

It's painted silver, similar to Reximus Prime color.

 

So it looks like only the first run of toon Scoria got the chrome gun.

 

Well, I've done my part in drying up the Scoria reissue stock. It took 2 months to receive it though. First I got scammed, second time the post company lost my package at customs. But suddenly it arrived today.

Great figure, gun is metallic, instead of chrome.
All parts are tight.

 

Glad to see you finally got yours in. I noticed that legit seller netclow just got more copies of the reissue in stock.
I wish they would have kept the gun in the chrome color with red tip.

 

Comparisons with cesium

 

I'm really torn whether to upgrade to PF Cesium. The look is spot on for me, but I need to know there's plenty of die-cast and that it's comparable in weight to Scoria. The size issue doesn't bother me all that much as I plan to keep him in dino mode most of the time anyways. If I end up getting Cesium, I'll most likely sell off the LED upgraded Scoria. Problem is that I can't sell the gigapower flame effect because they're all sold out (I regret not buying 2 when I had the chance); the effect will just be given to Cesium if I get him.

Anyways, I upgraded the flame effect again; I resoldered all my LEDs in the flame effect, and used Tint-It spray paint to give the flame effect a greater realistic flame look. Check it out!

 

Cesium is heavier than scoria.

Guys, where is the love for Scoria?? I wanted a Cesium a long time, could not wait anymore and bought a Scoria 2 months ago. And I love it! Even so much, that I think it looks better than Cesium. Scoria fits very well in the Dino team. I think Cesium is slightly too big for the rest of the team.

 

Yeah, I was planning to replace Scoria but once I saw Caesium... I think I'm good with Scoria. Just personal preference, nothing wrong with Caesium.

 

I only had one problem with scoria, the gap between the frill and head in Dino mode. Unfortunately, after getting dx9 pocket slag i decided it was a deal breaker and sold it. Grabbing caesium once some kind of deal pops up in eBay.

 

Thanks to Cesium I was able to grab a used Scoria for a good price. Some ratchets could have been stronger and I wouldn't have minded a double jointed elbow, but it's a great figure.

 

Maybe FT can show us how it's done and Blaster too.

 

Would anyone know where i can get a spare Scoria head, specifically, the blue visor or a head with one?

It's the only piece missing since i collect the X version and that comes with the red visor only. Grinder gave me the red mouthpiece and its driving me crazy to come so close to a Toon head and not be able to complete it.
