Well, guess I'll be looking into this guy. I was planning to go for Maketoy's version but I like the MP styling here a bit better.

 

You misunderstood, I meant that ginrai (the cab) is meant to be the same height as saber (the smaller jet), not starsaber (the smaller jet+the rocket pack). But yes, you are correct.

 

Eh, I always saw MP Saber as being too small anyway.

 

Keep in mind the backpack is hollow for the most part, and his whole cab is locked into his center and front. That's where the most weight will be. And his legs and feet are enormous. I also would expect some ratchets where necessary.

 

Ohhh.. I gotcha. What about the 3 brainmasters that make up road caesar? TFC is making those... are they supposed to be the same size as saber as well? I think the're g1 autobot car sized and I haven't messed with MP SS since I got him, but I think the little saber dude is a good bit smaller.

 

I guess you could say he has less mass overall, but masterpiece saber is at the very least as tall as a standard carbot. The other brainmasters should be the same.

I though FH had addressed that on Facebook today but when I looked back what they said it had was "waist articulation" in combined mode (the guy asked about waist articulation and FH said yes it does). I thought of that as meaning waist swivel but I guess it doesn't necessarily have to mean that now that I think about it.

 

There could very well be waist articulation in combined mode, I just don't see it in any of the photos shown so far. And I can't quite see how it would work or where it is in the photos. But again, I could be totally wrong as stated.

Either way, doesn't impact my want for this bad boy lol.

When I was young my japanese friend told me that in Japan Optimus Prime died and became a lion. I couldn't comprehend this. It was just one of the many awesome things I accepted as something we would not see in the West. I sometimes even wonder if, had I at that time been exposed to the japanese series, my tf tastes would have developed differently.

Long story short: God Ginrai (the fully-combined robot/transtector) separates from Ginrai (the human/Godmaster) at the end of Masterforce and becomes his own being just called "Ginrai", who then "dies" and gets reincarnated, essentially, as Victory Leo.
Now whether the Super/God Ginrai transtector is actually G1 Optimus Prime is another story entirely. It's never been outright confirmed (though if I remember correctly, one of the Japanese mangas or something like that "confirmed" it, for what it's worth), but I thought it was always implied in Masterforce that the transtector was indeed meant to be Optimus Prime (though perhaps I just read into it too much).

At the end of masterforce, the transtechtors took on the personalities of the godmasters and headmaster juniors (ergo, why they kept human names). While the transtechtor that became ginrai was originally meant to be a new body for Optimus prime, when it gained sentience it was not Optimus Prime.

And yeah, then he got fatally injured and they rebuilt him into victory Leo.
