The Monsterbots came out just as I started getting out of TFs as a kid, but I always loved the designs. Off to look at some reviews of the previous releases to see if I'll like them. Definitely curious at this point.

If nothing else, these are toys that transform from Kaijus into Super Robots. Talk about a twofer.

I like Fans Hobby's MO. Nothing fancy, just solid, simple updates to old toys.

I like the fact that they've made removable hands to go with their Doublecross, but they're still removable hands which is kind of a bummer. But hey, options right? ;)  :lol

Ah, but then he'd have hands showing in dragon mode. ;)

Then, it's good that they're optional... The original toy never did have hands anyway. :)

These guys really look great! I wish I could afford the set right now. It's interesting that some of you are stating that they're too big and brawny. These guys are supposed to be very close in size and bulk to the Dinobots. Remember, in the G1 commercial, one of the Monsterbots snatched Cyclonus out of the air. And another easily towered over Octane.

Not too big, but they are big and hefty. Maybe they should be bigger. I just got into them recently and am impressed. But it seems that they may be around...appear to be more of a niche product. I never saw them in cartoons but caved and gave Doublecross a try, then added Repugnus, now preordering Grotusque :p

I agree. If these guys would have been pole skinny like in the Japanese cartoons, they might as well be enemies to the deluxe insecticons. I like the huge original commercial / Donny F/Dreamwave gigantic proportions. Monsters are much better as out of control siege engines than average size bots with monster parts on them.

I am a follower of the Holy Sacred scale chart, but I don't believe these guys were on it, so the fact that there is plenty of G1 media that has them nearly dinobot size works for me.
