I enjoyed it... now ridiculously funny but I also thought it didn't hinge on all the stuff South Park made fun of it for...

It's still funny, but lately MacFarlane has been banking too much on cut aways with 80's pop culture references. Previous years weren't relied so heavily on that. That is the one thing that South Park hit right on the head.

But then again, South Park pretty much has a set formula for each episode as well. So as in the South Park thread, after seeing it the SP episode, I agree that they were making just as much fun of themselves.

I like how Adam West snapped the Noid's neck.

"Perhaps it was the Noid who should've avoided me."

    That was pretty funny. :lol

Yeah I loved teh noid scene as well. It's the first time we actually saw one of his delusions. One thing I found a bit weird though. I wonder if the censors are coming down on him or something. They only show Peter and Lois in their underwear. They usually do those scenes with them or anyone else completely nude.

Possibly. They then fired back by changing from weed references to making them stoned for most of the episode.

I actually saw this episode so I can comment, I found it rather enjoyable; I laughed loud and hard when they cut back to Adam West and Meg in the hotel room and the old TMNT theme was heard briefly.

So what's so wrong with eighties nostalgia? The audience seems to like it after all they're all old enough to get the jokes.

I rarely watch this show due to the fact that I always forget about it or find something else to do when it's on, but the little bit I have seen makes me laugh; that's something I can hardly say for the Simpsons anymore and I definately don't watch South Park, it's humor no longer amuses me as it once did when I saw the movie and stayed up late to catch it on Comedy Central.

Maybe one of these days I'll get the box sets... *Shrugs*

Nothing is wrong with the 80's references, but they are over doing it I think. Watch previous seasons you see that they don't do it nearly as often as they do now. and you will probably find the episodes funnier than the new ones.
