Granted this is not a custom figure, but it's a project that I am proud of. I didn't build the actual converter chip, just the body/holder shell around it. I used the NES cleaning kit for a base, and then cut around the area to fit in a Famicom cartridge. The converter is from a Gyromite game, and it is held in the shell with QuikPlastik (for the sides) and weather stripping (for the top/bottom). The Converter can be taken out and put back into its original NES cart. I'm waiting to find another, more common, game to exchange the cart, so that I could put my Gyromite back together. Hope you like it.

It lets you play Japanese Famicom (Japanese NES) games on your NES.

    Pretty nifty!

It lets you play the Japanese Famicom games on your NES. Famicom games are smaller than NES games since the Famicom carts have 60 pins, as opposed to 72 pins that the NES has.

Thanx for the compliments. As I told myself last Friday: I wasn't going to rest until I can play Macross on my NES

Holy God, you sure you wanna do that??? That game is hard as f**K, the controls are a nightmare & music will drive you insane. It's pretty bad, kinda like scratching a sunburn with sandpaper.  This is a cool idea though, bout time somebody did this.

My NES is working fine. What happened to yours? If it's that "ghost screen", maybe you need to get a new 72 pin connector.

Now only one question remains: Does anyone know where I can get an empty Famicom cart for my nude Gyromite game? I feel kind of uneasy playing a chip with no frame around it.

dude...... i remember my homy did this baaack in the day. gyromite and also super mario/duck hunt had this. but it was way more common in gyromite. he used to get those "60-in-1" bootleg game cartridges out of hong kong :)  those were the shiznites.

thanks for bringing back some good memories :)
