So lets say our wishes came true based on Kickbacks recent news. We can hope the Cullen and Welker would take their respective roles, but who has fallen in battle? I believe I recall both Robert Stack and Lionel, Ultra Magnus and Kup, have sadly passed away. Which other voice talent has fallen in battle as well?
Lionel Stander, you mean. Don Messick (Ratchet, Gears), Chris Latta (Starscream, Wheeljack, Sparkplug Reflector), and Scatman Crothers (Jazz) are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Tho you could go to TFWiki and probably find out who else. --Moony
Damn man, I didn't realise starscream's voice actor had passed on, or that he was responsible for those other voices. Bummer. And Robert Stack is dead too?!
They've all been dead for years, dude - kind of surprised you didn't hear about Robert Stack at least. Even Don Messick's death was reported in regular media due to him also being Scooby-Doo. --Moony
Also of note are: * Roger C. Carmel (Cyclonus, Bruticus, Unicron (post-Movie) and the Quintessons (post-Movie)) * Stan Jones (Scourge, Zarak) * Tony Pope (Wreck-Gar (post-Movie)) * Ed Gilbert (Blitzwing, Thrust, Superion) * Jim Gosa (Abominus) * Bert Kramer (Computron) * Johnny Haymer (Swindle, Vortex, Highbrow) * Regis Cordic (Menasor) And those are all I can think of at the moment. Oh, and Chris Latta also voiced Defensor. So, basically, all the original gestalt voice-actors (those that played the combined robot) except Arthur Burghardt (who voiced Devastator) are dead.
They'd never get all the G1 cast who are still alive to reprise their roles anyway. Age, cost and availability are just some issues to consider.
Auto, I'm not in the show biz voice talent scene, so what are other factors? Rodimus, not sure what you mean.
Neither am I dude, just my best guesses as to why it couldn't realistically happen based on nothing more than logic.
Dude you left out Robert O.Smith (Cybertron Soundwave) and he died earlier this year. As well as Barry Stilger (RID Scourge) and Bob Papenbrook (Mega Octane/ Ruination).
The list Autovolt quoted is all G1, yes. However, the OP doesn't specify whether the topic is about G1 voice actors or all Transformers voice actors so I think voice actors from all series are fair game.
True, they're not recent deaths, however it never occured to me to look into something like that, hence I was surprised.
Didn't the actor who voiced Drag Strip pass away this year? And yes Dr. Smoov does amazing work imitating the G1 voices. His Starscream is perfect.
