Transformers Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime Review (Generations Deluxe Toy) - YouTube
A word of warning about this figure:
The flap on Prime's back, which you flip up to unlock the shoulders and fold down his head, is susceptible to stressing and possibly breaking.
And here's the stress mark:
To fix this I shaved down one of the tabs, that clips the flap onto Prime's back. The connection is still more than strong enough to hold the head and shoulders up but now unclipping the flap is much easier and I don't feel like I'm going to break it.
On second though, I've been looking for a new PEZ dispenser.
Cool review, been waiting to see one on this guy. Looking forward to this figure, but definitely don't understand why Hasbro is doing a Voyager Soundwave, and not a Voyager Prime...or Megatron...or Grimlock....who's in charge of these terrible decisions? Yeah I understand it's more realistic to market deluxe class figures, but when they choose to do a voyager of a mold that exists already (that Soundwave seriously looks like someone just KOed the WFC mold and upscaled it...no difference at all) it makes me question their decision making. There's no question in my mind that a Voyager FOC Prime would sell more than a Voyager FOC ANYTHING. Hasbro needs to give me a job.
Voyager SW exists only because of the gimmick. It'd be difficult to do the whole minions thing with the deluxe.
Also they might still make a voyager Prime, just like what happened with TF where they released the deluxe first.
^Hope so. I would really like at least Voyager Prime, Grimlock, and Megatron. I'd be one happy camper.
This will improve his shoulder articulation:

I really wish that WFC OP was voyager sized as well - it was my only real complaint about the figure.
As for FoC OP...I have to say I don't like the robot mode very much - possibly because it has too much of a PowerMaster Prime vibe for me...but I LOVE the vehicle mode.
If WFC OP had his robot mode and this Prime's vehicle mode I'd have been one happy camper.
Good review, by the way
Optibotimus Reviews: Fall of Cybertron Optimus Prime
I find the figure pretty underwhelming for a deluxe, but since I'm a Prime collector...
I strongly disagree with you.Yes its blocky, but it looks realy g1,wich I like. And I think the new design is great looking, but I can see why people would not like it.Overall I realy like this figure,I think its as good as the WFC optimus.
While I think this is a good interpretation of the in game model, I really don't like that design, particularly the bulky yet plane chest. He just has this big, red panel smack dab in the middle. Outside of that, his articulation and easy transformation make him seem ok. I know the fandom is trying to be nice about it, but I can't help but be dissapointed about that combination of increasing price and decreasing size of deluxes.
I'm curious what you paid for them on ebay. How come you didn't just wait for them to come out at retail or online at someplace like bbts or tfsource?
^ These were selling for 19.99 USD, expedited shipping included, a week ago. Also, Optibotimus makes money on his reviews. Buying figures early is an investment.
I'm sorry you don't like this figure, OP. I haven't been able to put mine down since I got him.
ah. Wasn't aware of that.
yeah what he said LOL
I hope the Takara ver. looks better
I'm mainly disappointed that they are doing FOC toys in the first place. The designs just aren't that good, and there are so many great comic book designs just being neglected.
i second this sentiment
The size issue really hit home with the shot of him next to WfC Optimus. People can justify the shrinking of Transformers all they want, and I've no doubt about the logic behind the justification, but these little tiny figures are a total rip off considering what we had been getting.
I'm kind of disgusted...not so much by the shrinking, but by the fact that I can't help myself and I'll still keep buying them...at a higher stinking price.
I still remember being able to buy a full size deluxe for less than $10...and getting a freaking Mini-Con with it.
