    Hey,

My roommate might be selling his Xbox360 and I am thinking about possibly buying it from him. It is the arcade version (256 mem card but no HD). One wireless controller.

I was planning on buying one last year. The only reason I didn't was because he had one in the house when I moved in.

What do you think a fair offer would be? I don't want to lowball him, but I also need to make it a decent deal compared to a new xbox because I would still have to go buy a HD for it eventually.

    Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I don't think buying an used 360 is a good idea, since it probably has alot of mileage on it already. You should just buy a new 360 instead.

    Thanks for the input.

As far as the condition, its fine. He's only had it for as long as I have been in the house (Last Summer). And it really hasn't gotten played that much. He played halo3 and gta4 for a few weeks over the summer, played through bioshock once and occasionally plays katamari. I bought ghostbusters for it a few days ago and have been playing that (couldn't help myself, needed ghostbusters).

I think that somthing around $200 outta be good. If it's a "later generation" Xbox then the chances of a RROD are smaller, has the Xbox ever at any point had any lockups or game freezes?

not that i know of. But 200 seems high for an arcade. They retail at 200 now.

Whoops, thats right, I forgot you said arcade. I bought an Elite and I was thinking about that sucker's price range. Okay, so probably somthing lower than 200 would be good, like what samtheman said (about $125-$150).

Heck, sense it's an arcade and you havent had any lockups for it at all, I'd say go for it. Then later on you can buy a harddrive for it.

That is probably a good price - provided it's a newer xbox.

RROD means it's a hardware failure, any device made by man has the ability to do that. The newer models of Xbox's are not as prone to the 30%-ish failure rate the other Xbox's had.

    Or we want blu-ray compatability.

Or there are more PS3 exclusives that we happen to want to play than XBox ones.

Because reliable hardware without a 30% failure rate isn't enough of a reason.
